Were we an underdog vs GSU last year? If not, then it's been a LOOOOOOOONG time since we've been an underdog at home.

We were favored over Villanova and Maine and I'm sure McNeese State as well

.
We have to ask the question, "who are we anymore in football?" Any way it is dissected, APP has 3 quality wins in 3 seasons since our championship run: Richmond, Wofford, and GSU. When we've had chances to makes statements against quality, they've smashed us. Hurts our feelings to not be top dog like we once were, the sun doesn't shine on one dogs butt all the time, as the saying goes.
That being said, I'm not predicting Montana to embarass us like Maine and Villanova did. I pick APP in a close game.

The game is on the field. They can't beat us, nor can we beat them, with press clippings.

Ok I am no gambler even though I have been to Vegas once but can someone in simple terms explain odds, the team that is favored has a negative number?

You are correct Deano. Negative number = favorite. Another way to put it is App is +1.5 vs. Montana. Which means you add 1.5 to App's final score to determine the result if you bet the black and gold.

Thanks IG, that is what I figured, just never had anyone explain it before.

Has Montana done anything to deserve being the favorite for this game?

Could be setting the lines was based on scores last week and not watching our game. Or could be factoring our suspensions and injuries.
Also would think that Chatty has lost their higher status by losing their QB.

Jax State lost their RB on drug charges. So, both teams are dealing with departures

These guys that make these lines have built palaces on fools who guess wrong, what goes into their rhyme and reasoning is beyond me.

Good point. A sportsbook isn't going to offer a line just for the hell of it. They have a reason for Montana being a favorite, although we won't agree with it I'm sure.

Probably base this line on our recent history of getting rolled at home by quality OOCs and last weeks games. Who knows?
FWIW, I picked APP 28 - 27 in BigCs weekly.

Looks like the line has been bet down to a pk now.
I don't know how much stock I put into a line like that. Most of the major sites I know don't touch the FCS games. With all the work/research that goes into this, it doesn't seem like it would be worth it for the volume of bets coming in. Why is this site the only one with FCS lines? For some of those games (like north Greenville vs. tenn tech) I have a hard time believing odds makers would even have access to game tape.

I wonder if Price and Lott playing has anything to do with the change??
