As beautiful as the weather was up in Boone this past weekend, the upcoming weekend... not so much.

Weather trends have building clouds, with chance for showers and a few storms for the day. Thus, if headed for the game, pack the rain gear. Not certain it will be a washout, scattered I think the safe bet, at this point. So, we'll see. Temps in the lower 80s for tailgating and the kick, with lower 70s by the end of the game. Today is just Tuesday... Much better feel for all of this Thursday. The model trends, however, have been fairly steady.

***WED EVE*** Update...

Wouldn't bet the farm on Saturday being a "wash". Model trends appear a bit slower with shower filled shenanigans. Better data rolls into the modeling tomorrow, so a much clearer pic as to the timing of precip, and how active, later Thursday.

**THURSDAY UPDATE**

Finally think we are starting to see some continuity in the modeling. It's been all over the board the last 24 hours, but, it appears, a bit more agreement is showing up among the different data sets.

I'd advise to have your rain gear with you. Shower and storm chances will be ramping up through the afternoon and could get rather active during the game. I'd rather you err on the side of "prepared" than not. We'll see where "reality" and "modeling" (weather and football) mesh up, as we get into the weekend. As of this post, I'm not expecting a major change. But, then again, it is weather.

Lets hope our backs have been working on wet ball security since Fan Fest. I seem to remember the ball was put on the turf several times that evening and Coach saying he wasn't pleased with the number of fumbles. There's always going to be a few turnovers in heavy rain but let's hope ours are limited.

I also ended my playing days in a heavy rain game. Stay safe guys!!

Thanks for the updates!

Honestly, I kind of hope it does rain. I've got a brand new UNC rainjacket that I've been itching to try out.

Go Apps!

*** FRIDAY UPDATE ***

Yeah 6pm Kick.. seeing a good chance for some showers and maybe a storm or two at points during the game. Alas, the tailgate time (provide your own... needed... $50 ? really ELOAN... REALLY... stupid and my brother graduated from there... ) may be free and clear of any major shower and storm threat until the 5PM hour and beyond.

Mountaineer faithful... here's hoping we make them wish they let the APP Alumni do their own tailgate catering... After this year... their revenue stream is gone....

Remind me not to get involved in a land war in Asia with Eloan... (anyone.. ? anyone?)

GO MOUNTAINEERS!!
