Oregon State took 4-0 Houston to OT this past weekend. They are 0-5, but we may be the worst team they’ve played so far. Hopefully losing in OT then traveling across the country will give us an advantage.

Re: Oreg St at 3:30pm
There is no "may be" about it, we are absolutely the worst team on their schedule so far, by a wide margin. Comparing schedules with them is 100% an apples to oranges situation. Can we win this game? Yes. Will it take a better effort than we have given in any game this season to do it? Also yes.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Tue Sep 30, 2025 10:06 amOregon State took 4-0 Houston to OT this past weekend. They are 0-5, but we may be the worst team they’ve played so far. I am going to assume that they are slightly worse than Boise, but still better than us.

I get the feeling we may have some empty seats. Lots of tickets for sale on here and the school said they still have tickets available. Sellout streak is in jeopardy. The price point isn't helping either.

Yeah, can't see the school selling them for $110 when others are selling below that.

I thought charging $110 was a mistake by our admin, but there are only 183 seats available on the website. It'll be interesting to see how many show up.

I never bet App games, but if I was betting this one, I'd be all over Oregon St.

The combined record of Oregon State's opponents thus far is 21-2...

They may be better than us but how is playing an 0-5 team a big game. Even as coach speak, have we mentally sunk that low?

Re: Oreg St at 3:30pm - Discussion
It is a former P5 opponent, has name recognition, and is a new team for App to play. So it is still a draw.
Also possibly the last nice day in Boone for a game, could be chilly in mid-Oct it seems.

Re: Oreg St at 3:30pm - Discussion
They are counting on Oregon State having a big name feel to the everyday fan. It's a school you've heard of, and with the Pac-12 moniker now reattached to it. When you looked at our schedule when these games were announced, last week and this week were the definite high points in terms of interest.
A win this weekend can go a long way to easing the minds of both the knowledgeable and casual fans, since the former know OSU is far better than their record indicates, and the latter will see it as a win over a name program. And to be honest a close loss can be spun as well. Playing well, win or lose, would be a welcome sign as we head into conference season.
