I laughed at their poster who said we have a 2-star and 3-star CB going against their 5-star WRs so they should eat. If the rankings are right they should eat but we have seen many cases where the stars turned out to be way off. If we just go by HS ratings we would lose by 30+ to every P4 team but thank goodness we actually play the game.BallantyneApp wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 6:20 amI’m not too worried what Clemsons wal mart fans think, and you can tell the fans who know ball.

How has that mentality worked out for Florida St this season.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 12:30 pmI laughed at their poster who said we have a 2-star and 3-star CB going against their 5-star WRs so they should eat. When I saw them comparing to Furman, that’s when I knew to stop looking on that site.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 7:41 amLove this gem:
"they’re no different than Furman, relying on the money from big time programs to keep them afloat.
I expect the score to be similar to a Clemson vs Furman game. 48-10."
This guy is relying on big donors to support his entertainment, the irony.
This is their fans and not the players but I hope the players share that view. If they do, it won't work out well at all.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 12:36 pmHow has that mentality worked out for Florida St this season.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 12:30 pmI laughed at their poster who said we have a 2-star and 3-star CB going against their 5-star WRs so they should eat. I feel like we should be used to it considering how we are constantly called inbred and rednecks by people from SOUTH GEORGIA.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 2:04 pmI find it a real head scratcher when folks from a place like Clemson talk about us basically being stupid country folk. Have they never been to Clemson SC. But Texas AGRICULTURE and MILITARY did the same thing. Do they really not know they are country folk too?
We heard that so much last time we played Clemson. On the way down we saw goats on the roof of a building right before we got there!Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 2:04 pmI find it a real head scratcher when folks from a place like Clemson talk about us basically being stupid country folk. Yeah it doesn’t bother me. I actually embrace it. When UNC Chapel Hill came to Boone I set up a welcome table at my tailgate for the folks from Chapel Hill, individual wrapped American cheese slices and moonshine. I got some laughs out of it.MrCraig wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 2:05 pmI feel like we should be used to it considering how we are constantly called inbred and rednecks by people from SOUTH GEORGIA.Mjohn1988 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 2:04 pmI find it a real head scratcher when folks from a place like Clemson talk about us basically being stupid country folk. There is definitely a bit of that. I am going to pick Clemson to win but I expect it to be close and feel like we can win if we control the time of possession and don't let Mafah do to us what Omarion Hampton did.EastHallApp wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 2:59 pmEveryone's fans always expect a beatdown in these games. The uninformed ones who think we're still FCS, sure. But many of the ones who know our track record, too.
They just think it can't happen to them. It's human nature, I suppose.
Patrick Mahomes was a 3 star recruit. A 5 doesn't guarantee results only a perceived skill level when they get to college. What they do from there is up to the individual. I will take our guys to the fight any day.AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 12:30 pmI laughed at their poster who said we have a 2-star and 3-star CB going against their 5-star WRs so they should eat. I remember that. So many examples of a 5-star players being busts and quality 3-star QBs in the NFL. I think we compare pretty well. I don't expect to win but I would be more shocked at a blowout loss than I would a victory for us. The closest we played Clemson was in 1997 when we lost by 11 but I don't see a blowout happening at all.AtlAppMan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 3:32 pmPatrick Mahomes was a 3 star recruit. I feel the same way. I feel like as long as we don't give up big plays early and allow them to gash us up the middle that we can make it a game all the way into the 4th quarter.appdaze wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 4:00 pmWe compare better to Clemson than we did to Michigan in 07. With that said, we have also been just 2-10 against P5 since 2014. A couple of really close ones that went to last-minute plays or OT, but also some blowouts. An L is an L though. I think this game could go either way at this point and a lot of that is going to depend of the Clemson lockerroom morale with all that pressure surrounding their 3 year slide. Our guys will be ready and the biggest factor on our side will be how strong we come out of the gate. Slow start means a loss and possibly a blow out.
If we score in the third quarter, Clemson is in real trouble...AppStFan1 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 5:05 pmI feel the same way.
