Cbssports reports tonight that he has left the portal.

Supposedly Auburn did want him but he couldn’t transfer credits. The rumor is that he took some classes to stay eligible that don’t transfer. I also heard some say he was upset at Chadwell not getting a P5 and really wanted to follow him but who knows. I do think there is more to this than what Coastal is saying. McCall intended to go to NFL or follow Chadwell and he is not doing either of those. His injuries have hurt his stock. He would probably be a late round pick, if drafted at all./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 8:04 pmWonder if this is because nobody wanted him, or he academically couldn't go to an interested school
One has to wonder if the issue was academic progress. If there were classes that didn’t transfer, that could push the number of credit hours towards a degree below an acceptable threshold to make him eligible.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 9:09 pmFlorida and Auburn both wanted him bad but he wouldn't be eligible there because of aforementioned classes. It's almost like Chadwell has a history of academic fraud and playing ineligible players...
I have no idea what the rules are now, but I believe as long as he's considered a full time student while he's playing and practicing, it doesn't matter if the credit hours are going to a specific degree. If it does matter now, all they have to say is he's considering another major and trying to pick which one so he's taking different classes.AppSt94 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 9:50 pmOne has to wonder if the issue was academic progress. I don't think it's required to declare a major. At least not from the NCAA perspective. I think any person you see that's a 1-3 round pick that either graduated or came very close did that by way of person choice, a coach a program that pushed the importance of education, or family that pushed for them to complete their studies.AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 9:56 pmI have no idea what the rules are now, but I believe as long as he's considered a full time student while he's playing and practicing, it doesn't matter if the credit hours are going to a specific degree. To me, this points to more of a UNC Cheat type scenario. "Oh Grayson, you have a 1.5 GPA. Here, enroll in these 4 classes to get guaranteed As this semester." Not saying they're fake classes like at UNC Cheat, but seems a little odd that two SEC schools that have a history of accepting anybody if they're good at football both said no because of his classes.
I know he thinks is a round 1-3 prospect but I am not so sure of that. There are legit concerns about his shoulder. I do wonder if he slacked in class thinking he was gone but then the injury happened so plans changed. Could he have heard his stock is not what he expected or just can’t transfer due to grades? It does make you wonder. Something isn’t right. I’m starting to wonder if he would even get drafted due to the medical./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 11:59 pmI don't think it's required to declare a major. Problem for some and I think McCall fell into this trap, the media starts the NFL chatter a year or two before you're even eligible to declare. After that 2020 season where Coastal had the undefeated regular season, and he drew eyes to him with his play, and mullet, he felt he had it in the bag. He probably decided, let me just take these random electives to be full time, and I'm good. Which probably eventually turned into, well I don't even need to go to class or pass these classes because I'll be going pro.
The difference is Auburn let's anybody in if they're good at football and can breathe... Also, all reports say it's an academic issue. It's not McCall choosing to not transfer because not enough credits would transfer over. It's he wouldn't be eligible.. at Auburn (and Florida).
But isn’t Coastal the “Harvard of the South?” How come those high quality courses don’t transfer?AppStateNews wrote: ↑Sun Jan 01, 2023 9:09 pmFlorida and Auburn both wanted him bad but he wouldn't be eligible there because of aforementioned classes.
