Fire Nick Saban Now!
This is inexcusable ... It is the 1st week of November and Bama is no longer eligible for College Football Playoff. I'm tired of seeing the regression of this program. From not winning a Championship last year to not even competing for a championship this year. We have REGRESSED!
The secondary can't cover anyone, after Tennessee throw all over us, now LSU has marched up and down the field and nothing we could do to stop it. The DC needs to go ...
Are you ok with not being in the CFP talk now?!? Cause I'm not. We have the best talent in all of college football and can't even make the playoff. This is all on the coaches.
Oh, and what's up with all these Aflac commercials??? Shouldn't he be focused on making the CFP instead of feeding his greedy pockets with advertising?
Change needs to be made & now or we will never be relevant again.
I should know what's best, I watch a lot of football and stayed at a Holliday Inn last night.

You are comparing App State …. to Alabama…
Losses to LSU and UT to JMU… Texas State… Coastal Carolina… and UNC…

Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
I know, right? With all the money and resources in the world to recruit THE best players in college football. Not to also mention the larger fan base, TV Money, budget, and so on, Bama doesn't have the handicap like App may have when it comes to winning ... The program has gotten worse, how can you not see this, no college football playoff this year!

Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
Dumb take. Really dumb take. Their situation doesn't compare to ours. They lost to, at the time, #6 Tenn. and now #10 LSU by a combined 4 points.
Let me know when they lose to 3-6 Texas State. They still have Austin Peay on their schedule. Maybe they will lose to them, and you can make this post again. You should get a refund from that hotel.

But, but, but, just a couple years ago, Saban was winning those games ... there's no excuse, he's got the best talent, and the program has regressed. He's got to go.

I think give Saban another year but bench Bryce Young because the backup QB wouldn’t have lost any of those games.CoachRob wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 10:14 pmThis is inexcusable ... Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
But there has to be a contingent of 40-60 year old Alabama graduate/ticket buyers who believe THEY know how the team should be coached. THEY never would have made certain calls that Saban allowed. Piss poor tackling that is inexcusable. The defensive coordinator should be fired at the very least. Giving up over 30 in games isn't part of the Alabama culture.

I bet you Greg McElroy wouldn't have lost us those games this year. He was such a great game manager.AppStateTailgate wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 10:28 pmI think give Saban another year but bench Bryce Young because the backup QB wouldn’t have lost any of those games.CoachRob wrote: ↑Sat Nov 05, 2022 10:14 pmThis is inexcusable ... Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
Young had 4 rushes for 10 yards. They need more of a running threat at QB. Maybe the next QB will be better.

How did he ever win the Heisman? He can barely run and those big fat LSU DL kept running him down. I mean Heisman, really, and he couldn't outrun Chase Brice

Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
This is a totally stupid thread to compare our situation to Saban.
Saban lost 6 games in first year and then ONLY one season since with 3 losses. All other seasons were 2 or less losses thru 2021. This is over 15 years. That’s Fifteen years of coaching to reiterate. All at the highest level of college football, the SEC.
While at Bama:
185-27 record in 15 seasons
8 SEC championships
6 National Championships
You compare that to a HC with less than three years with each year progressively getting worse and we have not made it through the third year yet. What are you thinking?
My post is NOT to knock our HC but to call out how ridiculous your sarcastic comment is. Do not insult us with this nonsense comparing the two.

Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
I think they should give Saban an extension actually. That's what you do after not winning a conference title, right? Or does he have to wait for two consecutive years of no title before he gets the extension? Or is his resume too accomplished to earn an extension? Are extensions better suited for those who haven't proved anything, and not those that have won 7 national titles in their career? I think when the decide to do it, there is no better time than right before a bowl game. I mean This the season, right?
But can we really count the COVID year against Saban? You know what, regardless of whether he recruited the players or not, at the end of the day he can't be the one making the tackles, he can't be the one making the catches...sure he could call to go for it on his own 40 in the 3rd quarter only down by a touchdown, but if Gibbs doesn't make it on a predictable running play, don't look at Saban, he just did what all great coaches would do.
At the end of the day Alabama's goals are still in front of them, they just have to do a better job during the middle eight. The players that is, not the coach responsible for clock management before halftime, or coming out with a solid plan to start the second half.
For the record I don't think SC should be fired, and based off post history from other threads, I assume this was directed more towards those people.
I do think it's a stupid comparison, and I've seen more useful threads started by Cline.

Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
We only signed 21 5 stars last year. Clearly Saban is regressing in recruiting. This is the beginning of the end.

Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
This is a sad attempt at deflection.
Yes we have some overzealous fans, but this post is just as ridiculous as those that are chestpounding after a poor showing.
There are problems within the App program. Now we can have a constructive debate if that is recruiting in the trenches, game prep/scheme, or situational play calling.
Beat Marshall.

Re: Fire Nick Saban Now!
OP did a poor job trying to make a hyperbolic point here, but something interesting is going on at Bama. They’re the highest rated roster ever when it come to recruiting rankings, yet Young’s skill is the only reason they don’t have 4 losses. Billy Bob might be looking for a new job.

I think the point of the original post was that raising questions about Clark et al. is as ridiculous as criticizing Saban.
