It would be disappointing as far as a championship game goes, but it is a wise move if it happens that way. Adding Liberty or some other D-list fallback school just to get to 12 ASAP would be shortsighted.

The SBC meets in two weeks, so we should know shortly the direction things will go.

Will be interesting to see if, in fact, the SBC is able to secure more bowl spots.

No, in 2015 we are not bowl eligible. We will be FBS transitional. The conference championship game is the only thing in play and it's a stretch to assume we would have made that game. I would love to try, but in the absence of a top caliber FCS candidate, I would rather wait one year than add someone for the sake of adding.

I would love to have JMU join, but they are being very closed mouth and the rumor mill is that they are dragging their feet waiting for a CUSA invitation. In previous statements, JMU is also waiting for the results from their study and they want to get finances in order, so a year could make a difference. Again, the rumor mill is that Missouri State is interested but needs another year to get their football facility ready.

Either of those programs (Mo State more for basketball and "potential" than immediate football contribution), would be worth waiting. Whomever gets invited will likely be tied with us for quite a while.

We will be bowl eligible in 2015.

All correct info if you were talking about 2014. 2015 we are bowl eligible.

Gonzo is right, lets all work through this one more time. 2013-FCS transitional (not eligible) , 2014-FBS transitional (not eligible except for sun belt championship (that's a conferences decision i believe)) 2015-Full FBS membership and eligible for everything.

With #2 about to pop out it really is a bit of a mixed blessing to not have to spend so much $$$ this year (and next) on playoffs....

baby #2.... but you know sometimes both comes out during the process... But we don't talk about that...

Waiting one more year is the thing to do if it means getting the best team possible. I'm guessing the discussuion in two weeks will be to either add Liberty now, or wait a year for JMU or Mo State. Liberty doesn't seem to have the support so it looks like we'll wait until 2015. The chances of being in the championship game year one are probably 50/50 at best anyways.
