1,000 Yard Club

With at least three games left, do we get two 1k yard rushers this year? Noel at 913 seems like a lock barring unforeseen circumstances. Peoples needs 301.

barring injury, I'd say yes we do, especially since we will most likely have 4 games. Saturday against Troy will be tough yardage, but hopefully we do a better job of mixing up our plays and using the intermediate passing game to open up the running lanes.

This should be a given, as long as both stay healthy enough to play.

Agree. Cam needs to avg 100 a game if we play 3 and 75 if we play 4. Troy has a stout run defense, and Loosiana isn’t bad either.

With Troy defense, may be better set up for Cam unless we believe we can get outside with Noel.

The best way to get outside with Noel is to let Cam beat up the inside for a couple of quarters. Noel is best as a change of pace after Cam has dolled out some punishing runs.

Alstott and Dunn reincarnated.

May depend on Cam's health. He may still be a bit banged up.

Oh he definitely is. He’s just gotten to a point that he can play through it.

I believe they'll both get to the 1K, and have we seen them both in the backfield at the same time yet? Seems like that was going to happen similar to Marcus Cox and Jalin Moore at one point. I'm certainly no coach, but it seems to me that if we put two good backs, with different strengths, on the field at the same time it'd be a major headache for the defense to deal with.

We did it once from what I recall. There was a scripted play in the Miami game with Peoples and Noel in the same backfield. Brice faked the throw to Peoples and tried to hit Noel. Pass was dropped.

Seems like I heard one of the Espn guys say App has the longest streak in the country with a 1000 yard rusher?

Putting both in the backfield at the same time would bring another defender down into the box - could open some more open spaces -

Putting Cam in the backfield at 'nut cutting" time opens up other plays as we have seen. He's an NFL back, so the D has to key on him first.

I agree he has to be in there when we need a yard or two --- Of course, I have NEVER seen anyone better than KRich when it came to getting what was needed - if we need One yard, he got two, if we needed one inch, he got two, if we needed 6 yards, he got 8 ---

True. He (KR) saved our butts more than once on 3rd or even 4th downs.

We won a Natty with Richie Williams, and two with Armanti. We won three with K-Rich.

I believe we're sitting at 9 consecutive seasons with a 1K rusher.
