That is a heathy line. Opened at 13.5, currently at 12.
I thought it would be 6ish at a neutral site.

We are in agreement here. If I were to bet on the line with a meta bet I would have bet less than TD and more than a FG. Maybe -5 or -4. But I would just as soon be +1 just to play the underdog.

When I first saw the line a couple weeks ago at 12.5 I thought it would drop, lowest I've seen is 11.5 so is staying consistent.

I could see it drop again as we get closer to game day. I don’t bet on games involving App, but if there is value in the line, I will advise others on which way to go. I made a buddy of mine a nice sum of folding money taking App against Tennessee and taking Miami. I can make a case to play either side at this number so I would pass.

CBS has us ranked 43rd ahead of some big names. I forget about Virginia. I would love to have a buy game or home and home with the university of Virginia.

Most of the posters on here have a much higher opinion of ECU than I do. I think we cover this easily.

Not sure I can guess how ECU will be, but with a new QB at this point I really don't know how we will be.

Well if our new QB isn't what we expect, we have a backup that is more than capable to win the game for us so I have no worry about that position. I admit that I was a little concerned with the depth until Jacob Huesman came back. With him in the fold, that position no longer worries me. Either Chase starts, which to me would indicate that he is more than capable because we all know Jacob knows the offense inside and out and can perform at a high level, or Jacob does. Either way we will be in good hands.

What makes people confident in Jacob?
Not sure I’ve ever seen him in action with a full playbook to say he can’t lead the team, but I haven’t seen him prove he can either.

He is 1 and 0 as the starter. He can operate the offense with the whole playbook. No need to dial it back if he comes in.
Chase is better than Zac. He makes throws that have the coaches saying Wow!

He was recruited given a scholarship and played at Clemson. Zac had none of those.

If chase is even remotely comfortable this spread will hold up. My guess as of right now is we cover.
ECU is not good.

Actually, Zac was getting P5 interest until he broke his leg mid season his Senior Year of HS. Not saying that he would have gone to Clemson, but people were noticing him. The fact that Chase spent time under Cutcliffe is just as impressive. Dudes been pretty decent developing QBs.

For context that win was against a subpar CCU team in which we threw the ball very infrequently and mainly short passes.
No one has seen him in a game execute what you’re describing. No one has seen him not execute either. My point is he is unproven at this level.

Fair point. Yes he is unproven. He has a small sample size to draw from but he did win a road game as a starter and came in cold to lead a late game winning drive. I would imagine if the coaches didn’t have confidence that he could do it, they wouldn’t have brought him back.

Pretty fair line. I think App at 4:1 to Win the Sunbelt has actual value though.

My thoughts exactly. It's not a lack of confidence in his ability but whether he would be the guy for a season. He did come up big late against Ga State but that's different than assuming the starting job for the season. I'm glad he's back because I think he adds experience and stability to the QB room. Moreover, I'm not saying he couldn't get the job done, just that we don't really have a good sample size to assume he would shine as the starter.

Agree. Seems like a great guy and team guy. One of the reasons that I believe that he was allowed to come back is due to being a team guy as well as we are stacked on offense. If QB1 goes down, do we want a complete unknown and young QB at the helm...not this year.

If both teams play close to potential and limit turnovers it looks about right.

Another thing Zac never had: 21 turnovers in 1 season.
