I don't know about y'all, but I'm rather excited for Dec. 16! This is like a Christmas warm up! Really excited to meet the next wave of Mountaineers.

The big question is how many seniors are going to come back? How many scholarships will we have available?

I hope we can hang on to all of these incoming guys. Very exciting class of recruits.

I don't think just because they want to come back they are guaranteed a spot. A scholly is year to year right? With the potential that some of these recruits have, I think it would be short sighted to automatically give a senior a scholarship for an extra year at the expense of a guy that can possibly, and I do say possibly, produce for the next four years.

We are allowed to go over the 85 limit this year. It just means that we have to absorb those costs somehow. I would say no more than 10.

Just read an article that stated seniors returning do not count towards scholarship limits but that then puts a financial strain on an already tight budget in schools. Underclassman count towards the number so eventually down the road some classes of recruits would be small. I think that's how I read that.

That would be correct. We are looking at a class next year of 15 or so.

If all of the current senior class graduated this December or will graduate in the Spring don’t any interested guys have to enroll in graduate school to be eligible for next season? That being said don’t they have to also apply and get accepted as well into a graduate program? How about if after the Spring semester an interested senior only needs, say one class to graduate? What are the academic requirements in order to return? Can a guy (at any school) simply enroll in the fall, play next season then just drop out? Admittedly I haven’t researched this deal but it seems like the decision to grant the extra year was made pretty quickly. While I’d like to see some of these dudes suit up again for the sake of experience sometimes it’s just time to move on and let someone else play.

Whats the word on signing any running backs this class?

We've signed just about every other offensive position in the last round and we all of a sudden are getting thin at a position we rely heavily on.

1. Daetrich is a SR
2. Peoples is a RS Jr
3. NN will be a True SO
4. MWJr will graduate
5. Castle will be a SO but are we expecting him to be a starter?
6. Ben Williams looks like he was RS this year but I have no idea his actual talent level.

Can't leave out Nate Noel who will be a true Soph next year. Raykwon Anderson will return so it depends on whether we use him at RB or as a receiver. It looks to me like we're ok for at least a couple of years, and we have a couple of young guys and recruits that we haven't even seen yet.

This is why I ask about RBs. One more would help with depth at the position

My guess depending on room and available scholarships, we may look at the portal.

is Daetrich going to come back? Dude has been an absolute beast and has made, at this point several wonderful rehabilitations, but at some point someone needs to tell him that he needs to save his legs for life after football.

From what I have read it appears he will attempt to return but would he be the same is my question. If he gave up football I would understand it.

I read the same thing and I hated to hear it. He is a talented player. I wonder if he is going to attempt to transfer to UNC or what his deal will be? He is a good one.

Daetrich is listed as a Jr on the roster and I remember his saying he was coming back in a social media post back when he got hurt.
