Anyone figure out what the first penalty was on the defensive TD? I realize we scored next series. But maybe we stop them again and go score and go up 14. It was an unsportsmanlike but they never showed what it was . They always show a replay but even ESPN couldn’t find it .

There wasn't anything to find. Bad call.

Total mystery call that might have been the difference in the game. I really don't know how we could have made a penalty that resulted in that field position. The long snapper got the snap off without a penalty, so why in the world was the field position set back to the spot????? I really have no clue what happened here.

I don’t see it as anything other than a colossal mis-call
If it was a live ball foul, Louisiana should have maintained possession. If it was dead ball, it should have been post possession or possibly you could make a case that it was post recovery and enforce it from the point of recovery.

The 1st of many many missed calls on the night. These officials should lose their stripes

It is WAAAAY past time for officials to be held responsible for some of this crap. Not saying it makes a difference in the game, but that is a GIGANTIC momentum swing to start a game. In my 30+ years of football I don’t think I’ve ever seen a worse call, not exaggerating.
Coaches and players have to pay the price for criticizing officials, but what happens when a ref just completely botches a call that bad? Nothing.
It’s time to be held responsible. If myself, or anyone is that bad at their job, we get fired. Why is it any different for these guys?
It’s nothing new, SunBelt officiating is absolutely dreadful. It’s pathetic really.
GO APPS!!

I’m still at a loss for words on that call. I know I’ll throw around “that’s the worst call I’ve ever seen”, but that literally was the worst one because there wasn’t a call to be made. The refs last night were pitiful. They weren’t the reason we lost, but they clearly didn’t belong out there. How many penalties after the play did they not call? I especially hated the one near the end when the lineman basically shoved People’s into the ground after the whistle.

The officials were getting roasted by nearly every sports personality on Twitter. Yet the Belt will trot them back out next week as if nothing happened. David Pollack said it was legitimately the worst call he had ever seen.

I saw that too and thought the same thing. Especially after the flag on Hannon for a block just after the whistle
