When can we stop pretending like the harsh cold weather of Boone is a benefit for us?

100% agreed. Maybe back then when a lot of recruiting was done locally was it a factor, but we have kids from all over who have never even seen snow. Also, playing in the cold is one thing, but playing in rain and wind is something that will make the ball do things on its own.

It used to be. It is not now.
In the FCS days of playoff football late in December and practicing in Boone weather prior to the indoor practice facility - YES
NOW - not so much.
Our advantage is our fans.. I really feel like the lack of fan support due to restrictions (both for home and away games ) hurt us this year.
Our fan turnout for Marshall, Coastal and of course against the Cajuns could have changed the outcome...
Not having a fool at OC helps too but I digress....

Our team has straight up looked disinterested in the cold rain the last two years.

I commented on this same topic last year in regards to the Stink game. We have a majority of our roster from Florida and Georgia and I would bet that most of them have never seen or played in crappy weather like we had last night and last Halloween. In both cases I saw more excitement on the visitor sideline. You can’t simulate 30 MPH winds, heavy rains and snow during the season unless it happens daily and I’m willing to bet that most of the 18-22 year olds don’t dig it much.
