There has been a lot of back and forth on this message board and Twitter about the state of our program. Some believe we have coaching or personnel issues, the other side believe these naysayers are missing context, are armchair qb’s or are just outright spoiled.
None of this worries me.
The day I get worried about our program is when there is NO back and forth. When the message board is silent, when Twitter isn’t full of hot takes and overreactions. When there is an apathy towards our team, that’s when I’ll worry.
Not worried just yet

We’ve underperformed and underachieved as I see it. I don’t know why. We share our thoughts here and everything is fair game. We have passion for our program and our school. We better keep it. I will.

Re: Not worried just yet
If you don't get worried until that point, it will be too late and not much will be able to be done about it. At that point all that will be left to do is to place the tombstone. People who continue to ignore the signs of downward progression (not saying you are one of those people at all) that are evident in every declining team have just chosen to ignore what history has taught us about college football teams. Continued success at a high level is very, very, very, rare and we have been exceedingly fortunate to experience it. The fall from grace always comes eventually. The only question is how far one falls before the slide is stopped and success is returned. Most of us fans do not want to see any period of extended mediocracy, that is why we are vocal with our concerns. It is far easier to make minor changes (replace an OC) to maintain excellence than it is to start from scratch after prolonged seasons of misery. Anyone who doesn't think it can happen to us should just look around college football and see the shape of former good teams.JohnnyBurrito wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 1:15 pmThere has been a lot of back and forth on this message board and Twitter about the state of our program.
