Looks like they think they are going to roll the conference. Talking about playing ULL in teh championship and talking about how they should get to play Cincy in a Ny6 bowl.
"We have a CHANCE to play a RANKED App State, a RANKED Liberty and a RANKED ULL in the conference championship. Our schedule is actually pretty decent. Let's keep it going, and let the teams above us keep falling!"

How dare they believe in their team! That's just crazy!
Seriously...CCU has a good team and they're taking care of business so far. App just needs to take care of our own business. I don't have any problem with CCU fans talking about success. It's certainly nothing we don't do on a regular basis on this board.

Not knocking them for enjoying their success. We haven't done anything this year to gain any respect. Guess I just get frustrated b/c last year App never really got talked about much nationally and this year Coastal is the big hype. They are good and I hope we play them when they are ranked on national TV and beat them.

they better enjoy their success now, because that coach won't be there long. Maybe not even next year.

App has gotten quite a bit of national respect the past couple of years. This year is just crazy with an abbreviated field of teams, plus the success of App, Troy and UL over the past 3 years has paved the way for the Belt to get more respect. In the end, it will work to our advantage for Coastal to get some attention as long as we take care of business on game days.

One reason may be they win all the games they're supposed to win, like Georgia Southern for example.

Three weeks to get better.
Let’s see how we fair the next two, but you know CCU today isn’t looking at 11/21 as a slam dunk.

That is UNCC level smack talk.

He didn't run the score up on Georgia State for no reason. I expect he will try to do the same for other games where possible...hopefully not including App. Honestly, they have a very good team, especially on Offense, but we should be able to win if Jones draws up the right Defensive plan. Their QB is very good and gets the ball out quicker than most I've seen over the years. I don't think GS got close to sacking him last week. I look forward to our team playing them but if i were South Alabama, Troy or Texas State I'd be very concerned about a team with that offense and an ambitious coach.

Personally, I don't blame them for boasting and saying pie in the sky unrealistic things. We do the same. For example, there are members of this board who
seem to think we should be a candidate for a NY6 game every year. It also reminds me of one of the reasons we suddenly
oversold the stadium the first year we played them in KBS and launched our run to the NC in I-AA, I think it was. Their coach boasted almost every day in the Charlotte Observer as well as the Charlotte media in general how they were a better team and even better program than App and were going to trounce us.
As the adage goes.."it ain't bragging if you can back it up." Let's just wait and see if they're legit and not a paper tiger. As usual, the championship road goes right through us.
Go Apps.

I thought this same thing last Saturday while watching the College Gameday segment about Coastal. Last year, App beat TWO P5 opponents, who weren't complete trash, and got very little love from Gameday or really anybody. I get that it's a weird season, but Coastal has beaten Kansas (who are just pitiful) and ULL. That's not exactly the most amazing schedule right now. I don't begrudge them their sucess, I'm just jealous of the attention.

Let’s hope our players see the attention they are getting and channel all that frustration to the field in a few weeks. Or the rest of the season

Exactly! We need to keep the chip on our shoulder. It's dangerous to always be the front runner because complacency and over-confidence become factors. Our goal is to be the ranked team and the one they're talking about at the END of the season. Let them be Cinderella for now. App is too well known to be Cinderella during conference play.

They are getting it done and we should be the underdog right now. We need to focus on TxSt who gives us a tough time when w e play there.

This. The system allows for the QB to make one read. If it's not there, check it down/hand if off (depending on play call). It's truly a great offensive system that requires a disciplined defense. One person out of place on defense with a good QB to make that read and every play has a chance to go to the house.

The plan for Chadwell is to win the SBC and get a P5 job in this off-season for sure. There won't be a ton of openings for him but he only needs one. Vanderbilt is a job that I think he could land. Virginia Tech may keep Fuente after all if they can finish ranked. NC State is doing well enough they may keep their coach. I think South Carolina should give him a look but I'm not sure they will pay that buyout and hire a SBC coach. If Muschamp can win 4-5 games then I think he would stay one more year anyway.

Exactly. If we don't win the next couple games then it does not matter for us anyway. Cinderella is always the team people want to talk about. We still get buzz on the Michigan win and that has been almost 15 years ago. CCU should be the buzz team now but that can end this month if we play our best. I'm glad they are doing well though because the fact we did not get a P5 win is being countered by the fact we have a chance to face 2 Top 25 teams this year.

We need to beat them. Our recruiting footprints virtually overlap each other and I’m quite certain they are telling all their targets about how they’re top dog in the Sun Belt, ranked #15, etc. And that’s well deserved for them.
I’m not convinced App can beat them because I’ve yet to see us really play mean. I’m hoping our guys are reading the news about how we’ve fallen off and have a serious chip on our shoulder.
We need to smack someone in the mouth.

This being a Covid year I'm guessing a lot of coaches who would be seeking other employment in a normal year will get another try. Harbaugh on the other hand is gone unless he can somehow pull off a win over a much better Ohio State team.
