For those bored souls waiting on football season:

NCAA Revenue Matrix. Sheds light on where your favorite athletic program stands. I wish it would have included TV revenues. That would really be eye opening.

It says men's BBall makes more than Football in ticket sales. Either they're charging non-students $600 a ticket for BBall or it's totally wrong....
Am I missing something?

These figures are bogus. Western Carolina apparently makes more money in football than Appalachian.

Bingo
The figures are definitely wrong though. A fraction of the real numbers.

Just curious but where are you seeing that. I opened the link, selected App, and my figures show as follows:
Ticket Sales:
Football-$404,216.00
Basketball-$52,283.00
Subtotal for all fields:
Football:$678,547.00
Basketball:$223,068.00
And yes, the rest of those numbers can't be correct. There are several things missing such as advertising, other schools paying us to play, etc. I know there is more coming in than shows but it would be interesting to see conference money and TV revenue (hard for the SoCon since there is none).

Well the football figure looks more like a per game number

The differences are in 2 spots. One is "institutional support," whatever that is. I guess it's exactly what it sounds like; that they can't cut the mustard without being subsidized by the school. However, I'm really surprised our "institutional support" was so low. It might even be creative accounting for student fees or merchandise and concessions that are owned by the school then put back into the program as a "gift" from the school. The other glaring difference is the sacrificial lamb line. Whereas we normally pay guarantees, with usually 1 yearly exception, to teams not demanding a home and home, they take every possible opportunity to leave Cullowhee.
On a side note, does anyone else find it amusing that Western thought it necessary to include the playoffs on their schedule?

Just pumped we have a Spring game. Waiting from the end of college football season until the beginning of the next is long.
Nice to finally have this.
Can't wait to tailgate in Boone in April!

If they're talking about ticket sales $, then of course basketball would win out at most schools. At lesst 3X as many games.

Does that compensate for a ~1,000:30,000 regular season average difference?
