Good interview. He's a likeable guy. Hope that's still the case at the end of the season.

His first loss will be tough on this board and other social media outlets. There is likely little room for error in the public domain, tough spot (yet great spot to be it).
I'm certain his clock management won't be perfect nor his play calling, but based on this offseason and my personal experience with him at a Yosef event his expectations are as high as anyone's and he will put in the time and effort to achieve those.
I expect an offense that is incredibly dynamic and hopefully an aggressive defense to match. I'm not expecting a 12-0 season, but I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't a special season either.

Just remember people wanted Satterfield rode out of town of a rail midway through his first season. He turned out pretty great in the end.
I've got a good feeling about Drink regardless of what happens this season.

I can tolerate several losses outside of the first 2 weeks. Losing either of the first 2 games would be a tough pill to swallow and demoralizing to the team (and fans).
I really think we have a great schedule (not too hard, but winnable decent P5 teams) to put us in the spotlight provided we take care of business.

Just when I thought I couldn’t like Drink more, he nails it with a Seinfeld reference. I officially have a man-crush.

If Drink goes 5-13 with this loaded roster he needs to go.

Seriously? Remember, Satt inherited a pretty good FCS team his first year as HC.
As drink said in the interview, the new scheme negates a little of the experience we have retuning.
I’m willing to give him a couple years for everyone to truly learn his schemes and get them down pat.
I think of it as the first couple years under Woody’s defensive scheme. It may take a while to truly grasp the nuances, but once they do, I expect it to be tuned In

Satt did not inherit a good FCS team, they would have been a borderline playoff team.

Saint you're spot on. I got the exact same impressions during the Hickory Yosef gathering. I stick by my opinion that we're in for a very satisfying season.

Satterfield inherited a team that had been in a slow decline. The 2013 season was painful and that was largely due to the transition. By that, I mean we were not playoff eligible and the decision was made to redshirt several players who could have contributed quite a bit. Factor in a strength and conditioning program what was in shambles (inherited) and we get a season that was hard to watch. The situation this year is very different and Coach Drink is in a stressful situation. On the one hand, he has been handed an absolutely loaded roster. On the other hand, expectations are very high and his really won't get the benefit of a "free" year to implement any changes.
Anything can happen. Injuries can completely change a season. Just because we are pre-season favorites doesn't mean we can start polishing the trophy just yet. I think Coach Drink has us where we need to be and I am excited about this season. Nothing is given and, if things don't meet the EXTREMELY high expectation (hopes) most of us have, I do hope fans will be reasonable in evaluating the situation.

I think making the playoffs would be a good FCS team. Not great but good. That is generally top 2 or3 in the SoCon. Good-not great in my book.

I was being kind to those players and what Jerry left in the cupboard.
How quickly Satt turned things around while moving up was remarkable.

Just listen to his segment on The MAC Attack. Just outstanding. I did learn he said we are going to run some under center!!!!
Finding out what App's offense will look like is as easy as watching clips from NC State and Boise State under Drink.

I would hope that's not exactly true. That would give hints, but I think Drink is a better coach than to try to force our offense into a "canned" approach. He will use the talent on the field. At Boise State and NCSU, he was working with pocket passers. Zac is more versatile than that and I doubt he leaves any weapons unused.

How many projected starters are Juniors or younger? If memory serves we have most of our big weapons for two more seasons
