Bowl games - 2020

Unread post by Saint3333 » Wed Nov 21, 2018 10:30 pm

Karl Benson on a radio show staged that the SBC would continue to have five bowls upon realignment of the bowls, but would rotate between 7-8 bowls each year.

We know we’ll add Myrtle to the rotation, which others are likely?

With six and maybe seven Sun Belt teams bowl eligible this season, I think having contracts with 7-8 bowls is smart.

I'd say the Dallas, Frisco and Bahamas Bowls might be considered. Maybe a second bowl in Florida?

The Arizona Bowl probably won't be one of those.

The more bowls the better.

Karl Benson said in the interview the NCAA has told us we can have 5 bowl tie ins based on past conference performance. The difference going forward is we can expect the bowls to rotate so it won't be the same 5 bowls every year.

He expected the deals to already have been done but the SEC possibly adding a bowl has slowed the process due to worry about trickle down effects. He expects everything to be done around January though still plenty of time.
