The marketing folks/Athletics Office seems to be pushing this Go "Neers" crap....We gotta stop that now.

The worst part of this fan base is its incessant policing of other fans.

If you don't like "Neers" usage, Mo Bamba, or "you such, ass hole" just ignore it and support the team. If it gets students and other young fans excited, it's a good thing. Plain and simple. The least we can all do as alumni-fans is to practice what we preach and have the emotional maturity to just let a doe walk. I say "Apps." That's always been the abbreviation. I get it. But if a 19-year old says "Neers" while he's supporting the Black and Gold, I'm content to let him say "Neers." I'm glad the Athletic Department understands the importance of pandering to the younger fans.

Seriously though, I'd hate to be with some of you on Thanksgiving if whomever cooked departed from some arbitrary "tradition" like lumps in the mashed potatoes or something. It would be THE END OF THE WORLD.

Sorry fellas....I'm ok with white outs, Black Saturday, different uniform combinations, the music played( albeit at bad times) cups with ice or no cups and ice....but 'Neers sounds absolutely stupid.

You guys are funny. “Neers” does sound stupid and I’ll nevr say it, wear it, or support the use of it, but if people want to say “Tom-ah-to” instead of “to-May-to”.... I’ll let them and just shake my head in silence.

Maybe I'll join the geriatric mob when we trot out purple and green uniforms.

Since I've been on board (freshman year '07) the most faithful tradition we've observed is older fans being hyper-critical of students.

It's very popular with college-aged people to the point that if you play it at your house party, the floor might collapse.

Apparently many of our fans hate it (big surprise). Undoubtedly because it's a rap song in general, although a few have an aversion after attending the GS game this year where they played it a lot. Which is very understandable.
