Cannot make the game but noticed on their ticket site a ton of seats not sold in the second level. I was surprised to say the least. Tues/thurs games really hurt but with it being app, I thought it would be packed.

It's more of a basketball school these days.

An acquaintance here (a Ga. South grad) says a GSU athletic department official called him today (a recording) urging fans to buy tickets and saying that there were many available.

Week night crowds at G5 televised games are weak, generally speaking.

I will be there, first time since 2001. Said I would never go again, but here I come.

I get nothing done at work today

Im retired and working at a golf course near Myrtle Beach. The only birdies I'm thinking about today are the iggles and how bad we are going to de wing them.

It's weird that they seem to be struggling to get people to the game. I was at basically this exact same game in Statesboro in 2016. Thursday night in the Stink. But GaSo was having a much worse year. 4-3 at that point, and would finish the year with just one more win (that random victory over Troy in the final game that helped us out a lot). They didn't even get bowl eligible.

The funny thing is that game was pretty packed. At least for the first half, before we pulled away and the rats all abandoned that sinking ship. Looked it up and it was an all-time top ten attendance for them, announced at just under 24k. The Thursday night game with us two years before, the last time they had hosted, was even better attended. 24.5k, #4 all-time. (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paulson_Stadium)

So are they sandbagging? Or will this be the worst-attended App/Stink Thursday Statesboro game of the Sun Belt era? Despite being the most intriguing and important in terms of team records and ranking implications?

Besides being in the G5 category and a weeknight game and newbies to FBS frontier and stadium capacities......we nor GASU has the non-alumnus following that bigger programs have yet....with continued success we are headed in the right direction by our definition.....it is what it is...not to mention attendances/ demand has been trending down everywhere in recent years.
