UPDATE: ICE BUT NO CUPS FOR SATURDAY

Just got word that Food Services is bringing back Ice but will not have Souvenir cups for Saturday’s game. They were instructed today to bring out all the ice machines they had just put up in storage last week. FS missed the deadline to order cups for Saturday. I was told they changed their mind because of all the complaints of taking ice/cups out of our GAMEDAY experience.

As long as they're clear cups inside of a clear bag. ;)

Why don't they just get regular paper cups from the soft drink company?

Glad to hear somebody got to them. I complained about it as P.S. in my note to the ticket office requesting my Southern Miss refund be applied to next year's season tickets.

I asked them to pass along my displeasure to the powers that be and pointed out that in a time of declining attendance across college football it might not be wise to make dumb-ass decisions that would reduce the quality of our game day experience.

I got a nice note back today saying they were definitely passing that along.

Will souvenir cups be available by Homecoming?

Make a set of cups be the YOSEF CLUB gift. Maybe more will join if we are allowed to bring our cups into the game. Further, with a YOSEF CLUB cup you get FREE ICE!

Selling cups that are approved to bring in somewhere would be a good idea.

Lost opportunity. DG should've said "We'll bring back cups if 1000 people donate at least $50 to YC."

I would've enjoyed seeing people complain about raising money for this thing we all love.

Personally I think taking MMB seriously is a pretty terrible response to anything. Cue the "not everyone can afford $50!" takes!

I'll donate $50 to Athletics right now if ARJ deletes his account and stops trolling fellow fans.

I’m sorry it upsets you that I genuinely think it’s beyond silly when an alumni/fan base that doesn’t even fully fund its own scholarship bill gets out their torch and pitchforks and demand that the athletics department give them more stuff, cost and convenience be damned.

That being said, please give to Yosef if you haven’t already, folks! :)

What do you do with ice if you have no cups?

I think you are on to something with the Yosef gift as a special Yosef Club Cup for use at home games with free ice. Let the souvenir cup sold at the food vendors pay to fund the gift and make it be a different print or color to distinguish Season Ticket Yosef Members to attract more participation. Limit the cup for one season. This is a great opportunity to raise more funds for the Mountaineers.

If it’s changed back...great! Told an LSU friend about this and he laughed...Bush league. I’m hoping it was a miscalculated call and people said, “ oh hell to the naw !”
I’m happy...I think enough complaints showed that it wasn’t a minor little thing. It’s just common sense.

Posts like this certainly make it more difficult to take seriously.

No one has to take anyone seriously. What's the fun in that? My point is that IMO it isn't wise to make policy based on the attitudes of a vocal few that lack all the relevant information. I thought it would make more sense to have a soda fountain and only sell stadium cups. I spoke to someone that had all the data and realized why this decision was made even though I prefer cups + ice. The attitude of entitlement when our Yosef giving rate is so low makes it difficult for me to take demands like this seriously.
