The good news is that $100 Yosef donors with season tickes are getting parking. That helps to acknowledge how important those $100 donors are ... and always have been.

How much do the season tickets cost to go with the $100 Yosef donation? Sounds like in the range of $480 to $500 for 6 pairs. So $600 to park in the old welfare lot.

What a load of crap. I've been parking there for years....for free. Now they are announcing "new game day parking" for $100. Orwellian logic at it's finest.

It says available to “new Yosef Club Members”..... so if I’m an old one, I can’t Opt to get a pass?

I get the frustration, but there is a funding gap between App athletics and many, if not most, other G5 programs. Every dollar counts. This is basic economics, game day parking is in high demand and there is a low supply on the mountain. It's an opportunity to make more money for what I'm certain we all agree is a very good cause - App State athletics.

With this mentality, there will always be a funding gap. You dont pay for parking-Parking is a perk for donation to App Athletics=YOSEF!

What gets me is that students and/or their parents pay dearly for parking during the week on campus then have to leave on football game days.

And they agree to that when they pay for said parking. That is part of the parking agreement they sign before getting the permit. If they don't want to move their cars, find other off campus parking that does not have that stipulation.

I understand that people who once parked there for free are frustrated that that's no longer an option. But I don't understand the expectation that we could continue to grow and expand our enrollment, our attendance, and our support through the Yosef Club while still having free parking in walkable, tailgate-able lots.

It's not a requirement to have a vehicle on campus.

The "Glass Half Full" App fan's reaction to this would be: "Well the program is growing, I am happy with our program's success, and I guess I can spare $20 for parking to help out the Yosef Club.
I personally applaud the school for this decision and I hope that they continue to seek ways for funding from other area private lots.

Call and ask. I believe the original premise was to go with some sort of points system for the $100 donors with season tickets, but that may have changed. Call Mark Libs at the Yosef office 828.262.8075. He would know the definitive answer on that.

Actually, those that live on campus pay to park off campus. Those that park on campus, pay to park during the week during classes.

Good point, bigC. It is not a requirement to park on campus to attend a football game, either. I don't. I park off campus and walk or take the AppleCart.

$400 for two season tickets and $100 for walkable tailgate parking space, find another program that wins you can get that kind of deal.

Since the beginning of time. Use to make them move the wagons
