Overall great performance today, 624 total yards on offense & only 114 yds allowed while playing mostly non-starters much of 2nd half. Being said, these excessive penalties are a concern for me going into conference play. We've accumulated 19 penalties for over 200 yards in two games. Have to clean this up imo to repeat as Sunbelt Champions. GO APP!

How many of those penalties in the 2nd half? All but 1? 2nd team in?

My thoughts as well, may have even been 3 deep in some cases

No mater who was in 3 personals and an ejection. We have a discipline problem that is not being addressed. We have a reputation and the refs are going to be looking at us even harder.

The ejection was a targeting call which happens all the time these days. That has nothing to do with discipline. We did have one PF that was quickly addressed by a player and a coach. We'll be fine.

Stupid penalties are stupid penalties no matter where you are on the depth chart or the level of football you play. No excuse and hopefully it improves before it potentially contributes to a loss

As to that targeting call on our db, I was looking straight at it when it happened. I did not see a replay, but it looked to me like the qb moved right into the helmet at the last second. It is one thing to target a qb who is standing still in the pocket and another entirely different to hit a mobile qb.

If this should have been a penalty, it is a forgivable one.

As to the overall penalties, it seemed to me that we cleaned up a whole bunch of them from the previous game. Perhaps the level of competition had something to do with that. We will see.

The really dumb one occurred after Smith's first fumble when our lineman just yanked a SSU player off the pile. Something like holding is pretty random and could be called on every down. Every penalty is not a result of a lack of discipline. Last week we had several that seemed to occur from a lack of focus. Today it seemed we really only had one that fit that category. Regardless, they are costly no matter. Every ten yards in penalties is like giving the opposition a first down.

Agree that was a dumb move and Nunn pointed it out as he escorted the guy back to sideline.

Hard to make much of that win, however, running Lamb when it was already 45-0 is just stupid.
