App State football page

Unread post by moonshine » Thu Jul 13, 2017 11:44 am

Not sure how many of you are familiar with Reddit but App has a college football page. Reddit appears to be popular among the younger internet users with roughly 60% of the users being under the age of 30. Figured it would be good to have updated information on App's football page. Feel free to check it out and let me know if you see any errors or info you would like to see updated.

I too have access to edit, and there is quite a bit of editing that needs to be done.

The "Campus and surrounding area" section is a joke.

Thanks for taking this on.

"Total Attendance" should read "Total Enrollment"

Probably don't need to note "co-champions" for the Sun Belt title; some of the previous titles were shared and those are not noted in the list.

In the Wake blurb, remove the hyphen from Kidd-Brewer.

In the Furman blurb, remove "have" from "have long battled," as we are no longer battling them in the SoCon.

In the Honorable Mentions section, edit "may get to play again" re: Marshall to "are scheduled to play again in 2021 and 2022," and reword the Wofford line (similar to Furman) to something like "Wofford was a frequent challenger in the SoCon."

In the 2016 results, our record should be 10-3 (we're credited with an extra win beginning with the Troy game).

Why in the world would the 2004 WCU loss be one of two "Greatest Games"?

In the trivia section, our AP votes came in 2007, not 2008.

"What Is and What Is to Come" section needs an update.

Yea I messed up the records when I edited the page yesterday. I've updated based on your suggestions East. Let me know what else you recommend.

I have not done anything with "campus and surrounding" or the "what is..." sections. The person who gave me access asked that I not delete any information so I didn't take off the 2004 WCU game because I felt the same way...greatest game??? I guess one could argue that the loss to WCU is what helped the coaching staff decide to switch to the spread, which was great!

When I think of the "greatest games", the first ones that come to mind are Michigan 2007, JMU 2007 and Furman 2005 playoffs.

To greatest games, I would add first win against WFU in 1975, along with beating South Carolina that same season. Then I would add both Camelia Bowl games.
