On the plus side, nice to be ranked, especially since no one from CUSA or the MAC made the list.
On the downside, I think he undersells our chances if we were to go unbeaten. Also, I'm not sure how seriously to take the views on this subject of someone who doesn't realize BYU isn't G5.
Finally, USF is not a dark horse. They might be the preseason favorite to get the bid.

It's funny, they say that App would not be chosen over a one loss team from any other G5 conference because of the Sun Belt. How convenient it is to leave out that the G5 ranking, sans Western Michigan, would've resulted in the Sun Belt being ranked third behind only the AAC and MWC.

If we go undefeated with wins over Georgia and Wake it's a no brainer unless another G5 has an equally impressive season.

Hi I'm Jacob elliott 15 huge college football fan and humongous app state fan so let me get started on what's wrong with this list Well I am a college football stats man and looking at USF schedule they play no and I mean no power 5 schools and no I repeat no tough AAC teams so even if we loose 1 game and it's to Georgia and usf wins all or looses one I definitely think we are the clear favorite to go but we have to either beat or come close to gerorgia but AAC looking at there schedule those teams are not the same strength as us in schedule wise because of our 2 power 5 teams UCF toughest teams are Memphis navy and Georgia tech if they win all those games they have a argument but Memphis has UCLA navy Houston if they win out they have a bigger chance than USF and UCF and then we come to Wyoming which has the biggest argument if they win out with Oregon Iowa Boise state Hawaii Colorado state New Mexico San Jose state and Air Force wow powerful teams right yes so my feeling is if these teams went undefeated it would be in this order
1. Wyoming
2. Appalachian state
3. Memphis
4. UCF
5. USF
And those are the teams they chose no other teams so I could do a better list of the better G5 schools that if they went undetected could be in a new year 6 day bowl game

USF does play a P5 team (Illinois), plus their conference schedule includes Temple, Tulsa, Houston and UCF. Outside of missing Navy, that's about as tough an AAC slate as you can get. And of course they'd have to win the conference championship game too.

Illinois is still considered a P5?

Hey, I didn't say they were good.

Joke all you want but they are still Big 10, still a P5, and we lost a highly coveted recruit to them on a last weekend flip, in case some have forgotten. Losing Pate to them wasn't a joke to me and especially wasn't to the staff.

If we go undefeated we'll go, if not we won't. It's literally that simple. I'm sorry, but unless Wake Forest randomly wins 10 games this year 11-1 just isn't good enough to go. We have to beat Georgia if we want the right to play in one of the big bowl games.

I wonder if we'll be bowling?... That would be pretty good in our third eligible season.

You win some you lose some. I imagine that will happen a few times this recruiting cycle as well as the Top 4 guys seem like the type to get P5 offers.

If the SunBelt gets 6 bowl games again, there's no way we won't be one of them.
