From what I've been told, lots of departments on campus have their eyes on that lot and have requested for at least a portion of it. The names I've heard thrown around include University Housing, University Police, Parking & Traffic, and quite a few academic departments/colleges. Athletics will want a portion of it too, of course. I wouldn't be surprised to see a battle for the land, though. Athletics might get a portion of it, but it will not be a new AD-Annex.

Just let things play out. Believe it or not there are people/departments on campus that don't like Athletics. Words and wants are just that, for now. The main drivers behind this for YEARS and the ones who helped make this happen will have a lot to say about final plans. Just settle down for now.

More than lights would be needed in that lot IF it was used for football parking. That lot is beat.

We are indeed fortunate to have access to that land and I hope athletics gets its fair share. However, I wonder what they will do to handle traffic on 105 or back to Blowing Rock Rd. We stay at Comfort Suites quite a bit and its a nightmare getting back on 105 even when there's nothing much going on. I have confidence, though, that the University, Boone, and DOT will find some solution, but we'll just have to wait and see what shakes out.
