That seems to indicate that once the three-team tie is broken, it reverts back to head-to-head. Does anyone else read scenarios 1 and 2 that way?

No. That was not my reading. But, it really won't matter here. Both GaSo & App will make the playoffs. The AQ will not affect who they play in the playoffs.

I believe Woffie will also make the playoffs. But, if any of the three teams could benefit from the AQ, Woffie should get it. That makes too much sense ... plus, they lost to Sammie.

In the mean time, the SoCon needs to amend the rules to be more clear and less ambiguous. I'll hold my breath.

No. That was not my reading. But, it really won't matter here. Both GaSo & App will make the playoffs. The AQ will not affect who they play in the playoffs.

This is what I was referencing. It seems to refer to the process reverting back to head-to-head once the three-way tie is broken. Perhaps I'm misreading it.

1. Chattanooga and The Citadel both lose — Appalachian gets the automatic bid. (Wofford is out of the tiebreaker because of the loss to Samford. Appalachian State won the head-to-head against Georgia Southern.)

Based on others interpretations, head-to-head will not come into play. As for the SoCon amending the rules...clearly it needs to happen, and it almost as clearly won't happen.

It beats the tiebreaking procedure I figured the league would have.

1. In the event a public school is tied with a public school, the tie goes to the public school with the lowest enrollment.
a. If enrollment numbers are equal (or over 15,000), the tie goes to the school with the higher SAT average. (this is how we weren't called for that safety against Georgia Southern)
b. If a private school is close enough to the tied public schools in terms of record that the league can somehow come up with a formula to give the tie to the private school.
2. In the event a public school is tied with a private school, the tie goes to the private school.
3. In the event a public school is tied with a private school with a higher enrollment, the tie goes to the school with the higher tuition.
4. In the event a private school is tied with a private school, the tie goes to the school with the lowest enrollment, unless.
a. The private school with the higher enrollment number is in the Northwest corner of South Carolina.
b. If the two private schools have equal numbers of enrollment, the tie goes to the school with the highest tuition.
c. If both numbers are equal, and if the school is located in the Northwest corner of South Carolina, the tie goes to the school with the highest average SAT scores.
