Talk about taking a negative and turning things into a positive from the beginning to the end of a season. This kid finished the year 15-21, and perfect within 39 yards! We would not be 10-3, Sun Belt Champs, and REPEAT Camellia Bowl Champs without him. Big time confidence boost heading into next year.

Think the coaches did a great job of getting him out of his own head and letting his talent take over! He did have issues but believe he will win many more games for us than the opposite.

Yes he is going to be stellar. This is his first season as the starter-it takes a little time to get settled at the college level.

How fitting that our two of our biggest games won and lost by a field goal . What a turn around by this young man .. could have folded but didn't glad he is a mountaineer! Yes that kick was strong and high best kick this year.

Great way to finish the drill, Michael! Safe to say he certainly doesn't lack confidence going forward.

Wonder how many folks on this board want to go back and delete the crappy stuff they wrote about Rubino (and Taylor for that matter). I was talking to a guy this morning and we both agreed that kicking a FG, especially in front of a ton of screaming fans, on ESPN, for a win, gotta be something else...has to be one of the toughest things to do. How many high school games come down to a FG at the end of the game? My guess is nearly zero yet we expect an 18 or so year old kid to just nail them. Great job Michael. He's going to make some big ones next year
