We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

My record will be gone
Have tickets to GSU game and have missed one game, home and away since 1997. Can not justify going to this game with our lack of discipline and leadership. Does anyone want to buy? If not , will be sent to JM later this week with my concerns.

Re: My record will be gone
You couldn't pay me enough to drive to Statesboro and put up with their fans if we were a good team, much less to watch that game now.
Re: My record will be gone
I concur with how you feel. I think you will be hard pressed to find anyone willing to take those tickets. I have already given away my tickets and parking pass to the Furman game. Not sure if or when I am willing to make the 6 hour round trip drive from Raleigh to continue to go back home depressed. When the core fan base which consistently attend games (some for decades not simply years) and give substantial amount of contributions to Yosef club begin to hold back, we have a program on the tipping point. It is one thing to grip and complain on a message board, although it is entirely another to begin to lose interest in the program from the dedicated, donation giving fan base. My opinion I think we are now at the tipping point and it is starting to go in the wrong direction. I am not blaming coaches, admin, etc...simply stating my views as I see it.

This is exactly why I love seasons like this. We have TWO SoCon losses to two good SoCon teams and you think we're Western now. Don't hurt your legs jumping off the bandwagon.Robert Norton wrote:Have tickets to GSU game and have missed one game, home and away since 1997. Bandwagon? I was here before we got a wagon, then we got a wagon, then the wagon wasn't working but then we got a sparkplug for it. Thank you Richie and AE for pulling the wagon and CC for pushing the wagon in 2004 when it got mired even moore than usual.
Hey Shermer, think Ed can pull the wagon without lil mo?

Get busy writing your letter to JM. I'm sure it will change things. He is probably eagerly awaiting it.

Re: My record will be gone
I think that would be a very inconsiderate, self-righteous thing to do. YOU made the decision to buy the tickets. Why did the buy the tickets? Was it just to see a sure win or to support the Apps no matter what?Robert Norton wrote:Have tickets to GSU game and have missed one game, home and away since 1997. I really think our ills right now come from lack of skill and experience and this is causing a perceived( or real even) lack of dicsipline and leadership. I think we err when we place all blame for loses on the coaches. They cannot MAKE the players execute, just like you teachers out there cannot MAKE all students learn. I was listening yesterday and at least one time Brownie mentioned that Satterfield was going crazy in the booth because of Jackson's lack of decision making skills. It was a play where Jackson took FOREVER to decide to throw or run, had a seam up the middle and rolled to his right and threw it out of bounds. That has become a habit of his. And if I pick up on it as a casual viewer I'm sure opposing coaches will as well. He's disappointed me more than once with his decision making inabilites.
Now, having said all of that if I had the means and ability to be able to make a decision and afford to buy a ticket for a big road game(it still is a big road game) than I would surely go. This team needs its fan support now more than ever.
WE ARE YOSEF!
Re: My record will be gone
My concern is the football program going backward or forward not considering the win/loss results. One measure of this could be attendance, fan support, and Yosef donations. Robert Norton is expressing what many of us feel. App Football support is built on a good portion of the fan base traveling hours and spending hundreds of dollars to get to a home game. Yes we all support App State, but you know what a football game is entertainment and when fans decide the entertainment is not worth the travel time or cost this is a potential downward trend starting to happen. After attendance comes donations to Yosef which are one of the drivers of the program. Just my opinion but after 24 years it just is not worth the extensive time and costs for me to go away after a game questioning what I just watched. NO band wagon fan here simply expressing the how I see it after 24 years of consistent football game attendance.

We are stuck with that too as a result of player-discipline issue with our #2 QB. Who knows, Barnes may have been the starter by now.

Personally, if I felt like you did I would keep my trap shut. Giving away the tickets is fine but I don't see why you need to editorialize. I hope you are kidding about sending the tickets and your pearls of wisdom to JM.

No one like losing... And certainly yesterday was frustrating, but to give up on your team, to GIVE AWAY tickets to see your team play, to turn your back on your team.. is in its essence; shallow.

One game does not a postseason make.

I was here for the end of Armanti, the beginning of DP, the end of DP, and the beginning of Jamal. You don't realize how spoiled we are that we get frustrated over a loss to the best team in the conference. That goes for the fanbase as a whole to an extent.Robert Norton wrote:Bandwagon? I find it hilarious that you cite discipline as your reason for giving up on this team when you're still here after the school's name got dragged through the mud in the media last season after sexual assault allegations and numerous suspensions and dismissals.
It's a shame, though. This team has a very bright future for years to come and, if they can get a little help, this season as well. It's a shame you won't be here to see it. Your loss, I guess...

Re: My record will be gone
How the mighty have fallen. The program is a mere shadow of what it was 4 years ago. The chickens have come home to roost. ASU fans have given Jerry Moore everything he has asked for and more. He rewarded them by putting his personal life ahead of the program, making such poor hires the AD had to ultimately step in and correct them, being outworked by the competition and not recruiting the level of players one would expect following 3 NC's and a historic win. Those issues combined with his ongoing lack of discipline have brought us to the place we are today. A program on the brink of falling into mediocrity.

Re: My record will be gone
I truly hope you cool down and rethink your position. The team needs all the support it can get especially you long timers. Jerry Moore doesn't need the grief or the backhanded gesture. When the family celebrates we celebrate and share their hard won pride. When they are hurting we need to be there for them not turning away. I truly hope you reconsider, dress in your finest black and gold and show up at the Stink. If you have truly yelled your last "A-S-U" for this season that is your choice. Hope to see you feeling better again and back for next season... If you are determined to give the tickets away send them to me I will be glad to make the drive to support the team. I'll be expecting and pulling for the win, but if they lose I will cheer them as they leave the field because I know they will have "GIVEN THEIR ALL FOR APP STATE".
You want to give away tickets send them to somebody who still cares, I will take them. If not I am going to buy my own and go anyway, because our guys are going to raise a STINK at the STINK... I feel it in my black and gold bones AND I DO NOT WANT TO MISS A MINUTE OF IT....

Re: My record will be gone
I find it funny how people spewing all this negative energy have real low post counts. They either just joined or have been lurking the whole time for the right moment to complain. This sky is falling mentality is pretty hilarious if you ask me. One loss and people feel we are slipping to mediocrity. Get real!

It's interesting watching the rep points for those defending the program. They speak louder than replies could.

Re: My record will be gone
I've never been able to make a GaSo game in Statesboro until this year. I bought my tickets with my regular tickets. Please know that I have had an extreme distate for GaSo since I played water polo against them in college.
I will be at that game on the 3rd. I will be wearing my black and gold with as much pride as always.
Even if we lost all of our games this year, I'd still support those guys on the field. They are all full-time students and full-time athletes. None of us knows what each one deals with off the field during the week - an ill parent? a huge paper? a little brother who's not making good choices?
Watch the video board the next time they introduce the players and count how many are freshmen and sophomores - 18 and 19 year olds. Now try and remember what it was like to be 18 or 19. Now try and imagine a 250 pound guy running at you intent on knocking you senseless.
Yes, I'll be in Statesboro this year. Go App!
