Agree. Kept calling Jake Easter, Austin Exford and wondering if a DB could throw the ball. That was only 1 of the MANY problems I had with them.

Ty Hayes, Demarcus Cox, Keegan Gilchrist, & Josh Howard were a few of their jewels. However, I am thankful to have been able to watch it.The Rock wrote:Agree. Kept calling Jake Easter, Austin Exford and wondering if a DB could throw the ball. That was only 1 of the MANY problems I had with them.

Re: ESPN New Mexico State announcers
Plus they went all "John Madden/Brett
Farve" on the 3rd string qb, talking about how great and athletic he was, then he threw an incompletion on 4th and 5 and called him a gunslinger and said he made plays when he had to. Earlier they were discounting Lamb's ability to run the ball, and literally had about 5 seconds of dead air when he broke off a 50 td TD run. Never gave him any credit, just said the LB missed a tackle.

Re: ESPN New Mexico State announcers
Don't most announcers have big sheets with the names of players on the two deep? They were bad. I missed a little here and there. Why didn't Caruso play?proasu89 wrote:Ty Hayes, Demarcus Cox, Keegan Gilchrist, & Josh Howard were a few of their jewels. However, I am thankful to have been able to watch it.The Rock wrote:Agree. They weren't the greatest, but they were fair. Several times this year, I thought the espn ocho crew were the radio announcers for the opposing team.

Re: ESPN New Mexico State announcers
They may have been the NMSU crew. In the past and it may have been last year I would watch a few minutes of their games and AggieVision would flash on the screen between plays. ESPN3 was just using the school feed, much as ESPN3 will use the ASN feed when ASN is carrying the game. They did have ESPN mics however.AppinVA wrote:They weren't the greatest, but they were fair. This is my very generic signature added to each post.

He was in the green jersey this week at practice. Not sure of the extent of his injury.bigdaddyg wrote:Don't most announcers have big sheets with the names of players on the two deep? They were bad. NMSU put up games directly from their Aggievision onto ESPN3 before this season. NMSU invested in ESPN-style production in the spring and summer and trust me, yesterday was a major upgrade from what it use to be.

This ESPN3, I'm not sure what everyone expects. My only complaint was their inability to see the name Easter on the back of his jersey.

Re: ESPN New Mexico State announcers
All this could be fixed if there was a way to pause the ASN radio broadcast to sync with the video from ESPN3.

Re: ESPN New Mexico State announcers
I guess we could complain enough so there are no broadcasts. I think we should expect them to be professional enough to get names right but I'm still grateful that I get to watch the games. I guess I'm more interested in what is happening on the field than what is said in the booth.
Re: ESPN New Mexico State announcers
The correct way to pronounce their names is Conference Champions!!!!

If you listen through the TuneIn radio app you can pause it. It takes a few plays to sync it up but it works pretty well after you do.Boone Goon wrote:All this could be fixed if there was a way to pause the ASN radio broadcast to sync with the video from ESPN3.

Re: ESPN New Mexico State announcers
I have spent so many hours over the years watching tape, and then video with no sound I usually just mute it unless I need some kind of explanation - I tried synching back with David and Steve but didn't know about the TuneIn app back then ---

We are expecting a TV broadcast when what we have is internet. It is just as simple as that.

True, but I was still hearing that popping sound over my Rice Krispies this morning.bcoach wrote:We are expecting a TV broadcast when what we have is internet. It is just as simple as that.
