"While one of those guys might just wind up with the job, the folks we’ve spoken with about this job tend to think someone perhaps more blue collar could be the right fit here. Perhaps a guy like App State defensive coordinator Nate Woody, a lifer from the region, could wind up leading the Panthers to prominence. Woody has spent most of his life within a few hours driving distance from the ATL in either North Carolina or South Carolina. Woody would roll his sleeves up and hit the ground sprinting from day one. He also overlapped with Cobb for a year and change at App State."

I hope this writer is wrong and I hope Cobb rubbed Woody the wrong way....

Hiring Woody would make sense for them...he's intimately familiar with how to beat us, Georgia Southern's option offense (if they keep it), as well as familiarity now with other SBC teams after our 3 years in the league. Would hate to lose him but these things are common in college football. We're going to graduate some key players on defense so it wouldn't be the best timing from that standpoint to lose your DC.

I'd be happy for Nate because he has done an incredible job in Boone but Ga State is a dead end job. Their biggest issue is lack of fan support. Atlanta as a whole is known for that.

I always thought Speir would be a good candidate for GaSt. Don't know why that is, just always have.
