IT'S HATE WEEK!

The LKN Chapter is hosting a watch party for the GS game this Thursday at Jack's Corner Tap in Cornelius. We'll get things started at 7:00 PM with kickoff at 7:30 PM! Jack's has also secured AMB Blonde for our section! If you're in the LKN area, come out to Jack's and root on the Apps!

What's the name of the place you guys used to go, that App-owned bar in the residential neighborhood? Is it still around?

Looking forward to watching the Troy game with the LKN folks. Will be headed over for the BB game at Davidson from there.

Harvey's. Yes, it is still around. They actually opened a bistro on the bottom floor separate from Harvey's.

Awesome! We're looking at hosting a Troy viewing party, but we're definitely going to be at the bball game!

May I ask what happened to the viewing parties at Harvey's? I live in Concord, now, and we went there for the Montana game a couple years ago. Been back a few times since but not for a game. Seemed like the perfect match for a bunch of App fans.

App Grad owns Harvey's... I'd be interested as well in why the move... If Jack's Corner Tap is an App Grad.. cool.. sharing the love.. nothing wrong..

The answer is Harvey could not reserve the bar for App only

That option, for reserved, may change...

But, and I say this with Mountaineer peace and love.. peace and love..., re-think and rotate the places the chapter meets up for viewing. As an App State grad, I'd rather we support an App Grad owned business, that has, for many years, supported App State, rather than one who isn't.

Being a proud part of the "App Family" should mean something, and Harvey's has been there through thick and thin over the last 10+ years. When the CLT Alumni Chapter wanted nothing to do with the LKN zone, Charlie and crew, gave us a home base for game viewing and App State gathering. Let's not forget that, nor discount that...

I'm just saying...

I get what youre saying, but we do that. We do try very hard to work with App-alum owned businesses, and have done so. For example, we had a social event in Mooresville at Ultimate Ales, which is owned by an App alum. We've had viewing parties at Harvey's. We are big fans of Harvey's and Charlie!! I can honestly say that no one from our chapter is discounting Charlie's dedication to App State and the local chapters.

We understand that not everyone can come to every event we host, but we do hold events other than viewing parties, and always seek out App-affiliated businesses. I encourage you, and all LKN area App alums, to check out our other events.

I also ask that you all bear with us. The LKN Chapter was only created in August 2015. We're still building this thing, and trying to hold all types of events for our LKN alums. And, for those that may be interested, we do have a couple of spots still open on our leadership board. We will certainly welcome more help in planning and hosting event for LKN alums!

Of course I will bear with you... It's all good.... just needed to share some history... I'd encourage LKN folks to attend and help the LKN Chapter. Lord knows we've waited years to have our own Chapter. Bottom line folks, go be with a group of Alumns, and root for our team to kick some GSU butt!

Didn't mean to kick the hornet's nest, ASUMountaineer. I just remembered going to Harvey's several times with my East roommate and couldn't recall the name or exact location.

Nah.. no hornets nest kicked... very enlightening side conversations have taken place. Good input.

I think that all App State grads, in the LKN zone, should do what we can to support this fledgling chapter. So, I'll be sticking my head in the door at Jack's Corner Tap tonight; for a bit. You all come on out, and share in our common love of all things App State. If not for the whole game, then just do what my mom (the late Shirely Crum) would do... "I'll be there for just one quarter or so... got the kids with the sitter at home!"...
