Re: Recruiting, 2015
Pretty good bet since he cancelled the Illinois visit. Guess we'll see who else is in line.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
I had a bad vibe about this one last night when I read that his room-mate-to-be was going elsewhere. It's a tough time of year for anyone in the college football and basketball coaching biz. The heat turns up another notch on basketball coaches after the dust settles on Wednesday's football & soccer signing day. The D-I basketball LOI period starts on April 15--coinciding with the the IRS tax deadline. That's good for a bad vibe, also.AppGrad78 wrote:Well that's unfortunate.

Timing of this one is suspicious to me. Wonder if he committed during his visit but the Southern coaches told him to keep it quiet to screw us over at the last minute.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
What is the issue with our program where Obe can be committed to us for 9/10th of the process then flip for a lateral program the week he signs?

A lateral program from which he held an offer for months, and one that's a conference rival. I'd say the issue's not with our program...crossza wrote:What is the issue with our program where Obe can be committed to us for 9/10th of the process then flip for a lateral program the week he signs?

Re: Recruiting, 2015
I suspect the Georgia Southern coach wanted the news to leak out as late as possible so that the idiot Georgia Southern fans would have less time to bombard Fortune's twitter account with infantile comments. Fortune, regrettably, hasn't given himself much time to get a realistic taste of the intellect of the average Georgia Southern fan.EastHallApp wrote:Timing of this one is suspicious to me. At the end of the day, it's his loss. Man I can't wait till we play GASO. He'll see first hand why he should have stayed. But also he is just another 17 yr. old that has to make a decision and I want all the kids who want to be here. We have plenty already.

New commit:
OL Bo Alexander (6′ 5″ 285) of Dr Pepper High School in Winter Springs, FL has committed to App. I'll have more on this shortly but I'm moving his page to the Commits section.

Listen, there's enough of this crap about all he's just a 17-year-old. Now, when I was 17 I did some dumb things but I also knew what I was doing. your word holds no value anymore to these kids and I believe that come straight from the parents. I can tell you my parents would've made sure that I had my mind completely made up before giving my word to the school.

Don't get me wrong, I think Dr. Pepper is delicious and I would love to have attended a high school named after it, I believe Alexander actually went to Dr. Phillips HS.firemoose wrote:New commit:

As annoying as then Fortune news is, let's not neglect to welcome this guy who wants to be a Mountaineer. Look forward to seeing him help us push around more Sun Belt d-lines like we did last year.firemoose wrote:New commit:

Plus, another one from the Florida pipeline.

I hear what you're saying and I agree with it in principal, but I wasn't pouting when we flipped Davis from The Citadel and if Tarrick Thomas were to send in his LOI here I'd probably be willing to buy the whole bar a round.boonetown1 wrote:Listen, there's enough of this crap about all he's just a 17-year-old. Re: Recruiting, 2015
Sorry but I've been covered up, as you can guess. First, Alexander is a Rivals and 24/7 2 star who committed to App over reported offers from Army, Bethune-Cookman, Buffalo, CCU, Eastern Michigan Murray St, New Mexico St, Samford, Southeast Missouri St, Southern Ill, Stetson, Stony Brook.firemoose wrote:New commit:

Second...more news will be following. Not sure if it's tonight or tomorrow but just stand by.

Take solace in knowing there is no period after Dr in Dr Pepper.firemoose wrote:TheMackAttack wrote:Don't get me wrong, I think Dr. Pepper is delicious and I would love to have attended a high school named after it, I believe Alexander actually went to Dr. Phillips HS.firemoose wrote:New commit:

I corrected it on the recruiting page a while back but when they rolled the pages back with the new server it came back and I didn't see it. Heading to change it now.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
While I am a little disappointed with the Fortune news. I can't say that it is all that surprising. With Adams committing and Lettman already in school, I guess he didn't see playing time coming anytime soon. Add in Barbour and the RS from last year and we have a good problem with the WR depth. Good luck to him.
