We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

I will wear white to some home games in September because of the heat sitting on the East Side, but mostly it's Black for home games. For this game I don't care if it is 100 degrees I'm going to wear black.

As others have mentioned I wish we would go back to Black Saturday being every home Saturday. We were 25 years ahead of the color theme game by introducing it in the 80's. Why not go back to it and reestablish a tradition we started?

I don't believe that for one moment!! Yeah, all the student athletes got together one day and asked for a "white out", riiiiight.

Maybe something along the line of their response to some sort of random survey would be more believable. Like a multiple choice, leading question(s), type survey. Once again, no way would the students athletics ask for all their fans to show up on opening weekend dressed in the other teams colors (silver almost looks white), just don't believe it!

We don't slide at Appalachian State. It's a sign of weakness.

If they want a white out, then they should pay for that white out and give every person in that stadium a white shirt. Not asking the fans what they want but asking the student-athletes what they want is kind of counterproductive. The fans are the ones that pay for the stadium, the game, the student-athletes, and the experience. Don't expect fans to shell out an extra $30 for overpriced merchandise so they can play along with your white out theme, even though white isn't a color of Appalachian State.

Please take several seats, Ashley Payne, Doug Gillin, and others who jumped on board with this.

I guess now that Satterfield is a proven winner, there are a lot less things to complain about on the MMB, huh?

Wear whatever colors you want...just remember that you DIDN'T complain on the MMB when you were told to wear red white and blue against Arkansas State (who's primary color is red) for Heroes Day last year.

If you view this as an obligation you are missing out. Taxes are an obligation. Supporting your team is a privilege.

Don't love the white out idea but if Mr. Cox and Mr. Law request it, it's an easy thing for me to do as I have plenty of dri-fit App golf shirts that I wear for ATL summer golf. Maybe there is a real cool uniform with white helmet that these guys are psyched to wear that day. Don't care as long as they kick ODU back to Verginny!

People were told red, white, and blue for Heroes Day last year. We're being told to wear white because the student-athletes said to this year. There's a big difference there. Regardless, even the Heroes Day plan didn't work last year.

We are being "asked" to wear white because the team thinks it would be cool and awesome. After reading the comments on AppNation I changed my mind. I will find a white t-shirt to wear. YOu dont have to look pretty just white!

Yes, and with regard to the Yosef Club, tax deductible!

A difference in the level of sacrifice, sure. The military, law enforcement and serviceworkers certainly give more than football players do.

But the intent is the same. We wore red, white and blue to support our heroes, and now we're being asked to wear white to support our team.

If you don't think our team sacrifices enough for the program to be able to suggest you wear mostly white clothing...fine.

I don't think the Heroes Day thing was really comparable. First of all, the push was more low-key (you have to read all the way to the last sentence of this article to read where fans were "encouraged": http://www.appstatesports.com/ViewArtic ... SID=104458).

Heroes Day wasn't about fans wearing red white and blue. It was about the ceremonies on the field, the decals on the helmets, and free admission for veterans. If 10% of the people on Heroes Day wear the RWB block A, that's a success, because you'll notice it in the stadium.

A whiteout is all about the fans (along with presumably all-white uniforms), and it requires near-universal participation. If 60% of the people take part in a whiteout, that's going to be a failure, because it won't be a whiteout at all.

Great way to get the white block A back on the helmets for at least one game this season. The baby powder going to be flying.

Bet it will be white helmets with the black A. Maybe white helmets/white A.
