It might also have to do with making sure every student gets in who wants to go.

As much as this pains me, and I will gladly gladly eat crow, he's probably right. But I guess its better than putting a high school crowd into a pro stadium. Either way either way.firemoose wrote:Here's some warm, fuzzy board material. Plenty more of these out there.

Second, who cares what some random douche writes on Twitter?
Third, how many tickets did Miami sell for this game? http://espn.go.com/college-football/gam ... =400756960
Fourth, here's what happened last time Miami played at a G5 opponent: http://espn.go.com/college-football/gam ... =400764873

Oh, I'll be pissed as well. But I've just kind of resigned myself to the outcomes in these games over the past 5-6 years. If you look at that guy's twitter account he tweeted that if Golden was still coach they would win by 3 in OT. Haha I agree with that sentiment and hate that they brought Richt in. Hes a damn good coach and will have them ready to play.
It would be our luck that Tenn and Miami are both (Tenn for sure, Miami likely) on the upswing. We always schedule teams that are down and seem to catch them as they are hitting their stride. At this rate dumpster fire Wake will be an ACC title contender by the time they show up in Boone.

Richt is a good coach for sure, I just don't think he's going to turn them around overnight. I think he's more of a long-term program builder than a coach who provides an instant boost just by being on the sideline. I think you'll see with Miami something like what he did his first year at Georgia: He took over a team that went 8-4 the year before, and he went 8-4 again.MtnMan09 wrote:Appftw wrote:If we lose 45-0 at home I will be pissed. Re: Miami Game Sold Out?
Ok just so I have the numbers straight. The game is a sellout. Exactly how many tickets does that represent? Like many others I have attended games with announced attendance over 30k. What is the "official" seating for this game (with temp bleachers)? 25k? How does it work with people on the sidewalks and hanging from the trees? If my wife and 2 boys take a chance that Saturday what are my chances beyond paying through the nose?

Re: Miami Game Sold Out?
From the palm beach post dispatch:
No Life Stadium
he stadium will hold 55,000 for UM games. Seats will be blocked off by large banners. UM Athletic Director Blake James told the Post the difference in capacity is due to UM’s decision not to sell tickets in the two upper-level end zones, but that tickets could be available for high-interest games.
“Our need is for a smaller facility based on our historical attendance numbers,” James said. “It’s an idea they came forward with to further enhance our game atmosphere. They’re making a lot of improvements to do that. Reducing capacity to meet our needs will help that even more.”
Translation: more sellouts and a more intimate atmosphere and, UM hopes, the end of “No Life Stadium.” Pre-renovation Sun Life held more than 75,000, which felt like cavernous confines at UM games. The Hurricanes have drawn more than 70,000 just four times since moving there in 2008.

Re: Miami Game Sold Out?
Miami completely screwed the pooch when they got rid of the Orange Bowl and forced their students and fans to commute 34 minutes (without traffic) to a "home game."Rekdiver wrote:From the palm beach post dispatch:

A sellout for this game is not a surprise. What may be: if Miami sells out when Appalachian State comes to town Sept. 11, 2021.
