Nothing good has ever come from Delaware.App_in_Maiden wrote: ↑Thu Oct 09, 2025 5:27 amAgreed. My buddy and I sat in the Delaware section. Had an older couple next to us asking “where is Boone,NC” and just giving us crap. This was all before the game started and ended very quickly. I went to the 06 championship game as it was my freshman year so I’ll never forget that, but something about the 07 one was magical. Yes it was a 3 peat, but I think from having the high of beating Michigan to the ups and downs of the season and being so close to being out first round to JMU, to the Armanti Edwards show against Richmond, it just captivated how great that team was.MDaniels wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 9:20 pmWe all keep hearing about importance of playing complimentary football. That 2007 natty game against Delaware was a perfect example of that. Our defense must have harrassed or sacked Flaco 6 or 7 times and Armanti and KR had their way. One of my favorite games ever to attend in person.rbarthle17 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 2:53 pmNovember 2005 keeps getting further in the rear view window as being the last time I attended a game in Boone. I really hope this Toledo series doesn't get blown up as us coming to the Glass Bowl might be my best chance to see us home or away since the 2007 title game.

He isn’t a bd person. He’s a good guy who is passionate about App. His tactics on using social media are borderline cyber bullying.

I do not know the this person..in today's world "cyber bullying" has the same or worse effect than "live" bullying from back in the day. IMHO, that is a bad person...I get you said "borderline"..if this is the case, the person on the other end of the post may mentally receive that as bullying...

After looking him up on X....I can say he and I wouldn't be friends based on political ideology. I see where he gets his online bullying from.Gonzo wrote: ↑Thu Oct 09, 2025 5:30 pmMy issue isn’t his zeal, it’s his sense of fashion. As passionate as he is, he acts on every impulsive idea, doesn't listen to others and is convinced everyone against him are just boomers who want the same uniforms every game. He's also convinced Doug Gillin is a stick in the mud and won't bring back any past logos because "it's detrimental to the App State brand" because Doug wouldn't do the 35,851st idea he came up with.
I know this is gonna get back to him so I hope instead of coming up with 1,000 more ideas that he narrows his focus and let's ideas breath. He can be tiresome.
Love the passion, hate the taste.

You choose your friends based on their politics? If not for social media, you wouldn’t even know it, and it wouldn’t be likely to matter either way.ASUTodd wrote: ↑Fri Oct 10, 2025 7:40 amAfter looking him up on X....I can say he and I wouldn't be friends based on political ideology. This is why I am heavily in favor of someone hacking TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, BlueSky, et. al. And ransomwaring them into bankruptcy. They have destroyed the fabric of human nature which is direct human to human communications.

Yes... I do select my friends based on how compatible they are with my values and ideals. I have many acquaintances that I associate with who are opposite of my views both politically and religiously....but they are not friends. Anyone opposed to law enforcement probably isn't going to want to associate with me anyway. I put my ideals out there for all to see. I am who I am and they are who they are. We all gravitate and associate with those of a like mind. It's a natural thing. I didn't say I hated him or wished him ill-will....simply said I wouldn't be friends with him.ericsaid wrote: ↑Fri Oct 10, 2025 7:51 amYou choose your friends based on their politics? On reflection, my previous post about Riley was mean spirited and messed up on my part, and my expression of frustrations was done in a completely wrong way.

I'm guessing we'll wear black next week anyway since we don't match color schemes with the fans (or at least the ones that are going to participate)

Re: Gold out vs coastal
Not to point fingers because I think posts like this are totally consistent with Riley's constant griping about his own preferences, but this fanbase has too many gatekeepers and fanship police. App has unparalleled culture, but the downside is you have loads of extremely passionate people who have very specific concepts of what those traditions are, and who feel compelled to demand compliance with their specific iteration, even down to the color shirt another man chooses to wear to the game. Some older people act like "Roll Neers" is an afront to their religion.
I'm not wearing yellow because I know what color shirts I like to wear and I don't want to spend $50-100 on a single use shirt. All y'all who want to wear yellow, have at it. I think it's a cool idea. Whatever. Go Apps and Roll Neers.
