ManAboutTown here. (Yes, that guy). It was pretty tough and time consuming to get into your little circle jerk here, but certainly time well spent. If you’re moderators aren’t cowards, they’ll allow me to stay (I’ll behave, give you my word) and ‘chop it up’ with you folks. But judging by the dictatorship you guys run over here, it will last long. I get it: Safe Spaces are all the rage. No further judgement from Ole MAT here.
Here’s the deal: The cold, hard slap of reality is coming for your football team tomorrow night. It will be a shellacking of epic proportions, and I for one CAN NOT wait to see the look on your long banana faces when the clock hits triple zeros. You have an odd bunch up there in Boone. Most fans I met were reasonable and respectful (thanks for that btw) when I visited, but the Keyboard Cowboys on this board are insufferable. So anyway, for those traveling, be safe and avoid I10 at all costs. For those watching at home, make sure you have a loved one near. You’ll need that shoulder to cry on. With that said…

We’ve only had one midweek game out of 8 decided by less than two TDs. Hope the defense can slow down their rushing attack.

I would like to remind everyone that this guy probably got his attitude from ole mark Hudspeth. He made it sound like the lala football team had to take a covered wagon and camp on grandfather mountain when they played in Boone during his interviews. I personally believe that camping in the high country would be an upgrade from a mosquito infested trailer park in a swamp, but that’s just my opinion. If I remember correctly that mountaineer team beat lala so soundly that they fired him the next day.
I think we need to have empathy for woolyworm when we read his ramblings. We were once a fan base that looked up and supported our team towards that goal. Lala fans are a fan base that also looks upwards and when they look towards what they could be some day, they see Appalachian State University. We remember the days of being an fans of an FCS program and should remember those feelings when we read his posts.

To be fair, the last time Lafayette saw Taylor Lamb, he lit them up for 4 TD's and a blowout score of 63-14, Lafayette's last TD in garbage time against our backups. When you take that into perspective, it'd be hard to compare any quarterback to Taylor Lamb .WoollyWormVet wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2019 5:12 pmAnd I can't believe your fanbase thinks ZT is any good. I respect his ability to run and operate your offense, but beyond that, he's a 50/50 ball thrower. Foot work is average, at best. He won't "light up" anyone as a passer.sfoal308 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 08, 2019 5:09 pmIt is hilarious to me that your fan base seems to think that Taylor Lamb was better than Zac. Re: Officially Underdogs to ULL
You know I could almost understand it if they're saying that Zac is "average" per App standards, because we've had some amazing QBs over the years. But even that wouldn't be right, and granted Zac is still early in his second year as the starter, but he's got it all. The arm, the legs, the decision making and if he stays healthy he's going to lead our program to a whole new level on the national stage.NattyBumppo'sRevenge wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 7:04 amTo be fair, the last time Lafayette saw Taylor Lamb, he lit them up for 4 TD's and a blowout score of 63-14, Lafayette's last TD in garbage time against our backups. Ya'll have done nothing, you lost to a bad Mississippi State, and have padded stats on 3 other teams in a down year. You were even close to Georgia Southern and they are having an off year. So yes, you're pretty cocky coming off of 4 big wins and that would make you confident enough to come over here to our message board to talk a little shit. But,if you had zero worries about the game you wouldn't be here. You're kind of like a Kardashian just trying to stay relevant. I think the "cold, hard slap of reality" that's coming will be for you, when you're sitting in your same seat next to the same people you've sat next to all season saying "we want app state" and you realize that you just got your shit kicked in.
All in good fun though. Good luck tonight. Stay safe champ!

Cajun Coonass
Coonass is a controversial term in the Cajun lexicon: to some Cajuns it is regarded as the supreme ethnic slur, meaning “ignorant, backwards Cajun”; to others the term is a badge of pride, much like the word Chicano is for Mexican Americans. In South Louisiana, for example, one can often see bumper stickers reading “Warning — Coonass on Board!” or “Registered Coonass” (both of which generally depict a raccoon’s backside). The word’s origin is unclear: folk etymology claims that coonass dates from World War II, when Cajun GIs serving in France were derided by native French speakers as conasse, meaning “dirty whore” or “idiot.” Non-French-speaking American GIs allegedly overheard the expression, converted it to the English “coonass,” and introduced the term back in the United States. There it supposedly soon caught on as a derisive term among non-Cajuns, who encountered many Cajuns in Gulf Coast oilfields. It is now known, however, that coonass predated the arrival of Cajun GIs in France during World War II, which undermines the conasse theory. Indeed, folklorist Barry Jean Ancelet has long rejected this theory, calling it “shaky linguistics at best.” He has suggested that the word originated in South Louisiana, and that it derived from the belief that Cajuns frequently ate raccoons. He has also proposed that the term contains a negative racial connotation: namely, that Cajuns were “beneath” or “under” blacks (or coons, as blacks were often called by racists). Despite efforts by Cajun activists like James Domengeaux and Warren A. Perrin to stamp out the term’s use, coonass continues to circulate in South Louisiana and beyond. Its acceptability among the general public, however, tends to vary according to circumstances, and often depends on who says it and with what intention. Cajuns who dislike the term have been known to correct well-meaning outsiders who use the epithet.

Not that he would come back here for his whippings but I'd love for him to have the chance.
