We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Illinois State
If we can get 20K into KBS for this one, I will be very, very happy! Realistically, I'm guessing it will be in the 15K-17K range.
Re: Illinois State
OK, forgive me for hijacking this here thread, but the phrase "renting their garments in anger" is just too plush to ignore.AppinVA wrote:I guess my point is that if we were outbid by a team not as good as us, but had deep pockets I have a hunch many on here would be renting their garments in anger, and calling for an end to money playing too large of a part in the playoffs.
Kindof adds new meaning to being poor now doesn't it? Or, perhaps AppVa has sort of let his Bible get all dusty & musty ... I think maybe, just maybe, the phrase he (or she) was fishing for here was "rending their garments in anger".
But, having considered the context here, renting garments in anger is just fine.
Course, maybe he meant we'd be renting our garments to help raise money to actually host a playoff game. How much do ya reckon I can git for my socks for a week?
OK, I'm done. I STILL like more money than less money.

I could pass it off as a typo, but to be honest I like your post enough that I'll take the error and enjoy your post.AppAlum1 wrote:OK, forgive me for hijacking this here thread, but the phrase "renting their garments in anger" is just too plush to ignore.AppinVA wrote:I guess my point is that if we were outbid by a team not as good as us, but had deep pockets I have a hunch many on here would be renting their garments in anger, and calling for an end to money playing too large of a part in the playoffs.

Re: Illinois State
As everyone knows, typically in the past our attendance at home during playoffs has been about half of what it normally is. I am hoping that since the weather will be decent and that the students will be still in school and can get in free we can do better than we normally do.
I'm being optimistic with 19,000 fans.

Re: Illinois State
Hopefully, the combination of free student tickets and two full weeks of knowing that a 12/1 home game was all but certain will help. I will be interested to see what kind of effect it may have.Deano wrote:As everyone knows, typically in the past our attendance at home during playoffs has been about half of what it normally is. The good thing is that the fans in attendance, whether it is 15K or 20K, are typically the type who make noise and stay until the end.

Re: Illinois State
That is optomistic. I like it. I will be a slight bit more optomistic and I'll do my "The Price Is Right" blocking bid of 19,001. Bob Barker would be proud.Deano wrote:As everyone knows, typically in the past our attendance at home during playoffs has been about half of what it normally is. Re: Illinois State
Purchased my regular season seats in 204 yesterday online. Can't pass up a home playoff game. And so far the weather is looking pretty good for early December. Go Apps!!!
Re: Illinois State
This game is important for both schools.
Both Illinois State and App State need:

Man, I HATE that word. It don't mean squat. Only thing we need Saturday is a win. I don't care what anyone else thinks.GoApps70 wrote:This game is important for both schools.

3 weeks off...no rain and a high of 54 and students get in free...........I'm guessing north of 20,000 and south of 24,000

Also add in the fact that this will most likely be our only home playoff game.

Are you sure students get in free? That is great but I thought they had to pay for playoff games.

I'll be pulling hard for Wagner and Stony Brook.

We just completed our podcast where we talked about the Illinois State game in depth. If you didn't catch it live, you can listen to it here: http://appstatecentral.com/content/podcast
We also had a fairly in depth conversation about the conference realignment with the news of ECU and Tulane going to the Big East..
