Re: R&L Carriers Bowl...NEW ORLEANS opponent?
This is now the most important game in Apps transition to FBS. We all griped about not getting into CUSA years ago and now we are grateful we didn't.... With that being said, if we want to prove we are better off ....we MUST win this one. We lose to an 8-5 MTSU team from CUSA then we better just shut our mouths for a long time... We proved ourselves against the MAC... We have beaten lesser CUSA teams.. now it's time. No coaching carousel distractions, no injury excuses, no nothing.... Time to win baby win.

I do not believe so, although he may have a clause or bonus in his contract in regards to tickets sold. Here is a little tidbit from a USA Today Article a while back:
“The ticket requirements are negotiated by the bowls and leagues long before bowl matchups are finalized. The bowls like bigger guaranteed ticket sales because they shift the risk of unsold tickets to the schools and leagues. In exchange for taking on that risk, the bowls generally guarantee a bigger payout for participating schools and leagues. The schools and leagues also get a block of premium tickets at locked-in prices that might fetch more money on the open market.”
Basically the school has to buy x amount. They are stuck with that bill no matter what. We can help them reduce the loss by buying through them and also creating a larger payout pool in the future if that makes sense.

Yeah, I knew that's how it works. It's just a very expensive trip for a family of four, if I can save $50 and have guaranteed seats I will enjoy.... Although I'll probably end up getting through the school bc of longterm investment... Guess UAB thinks NIU as the MAC champion is a bigger dog (no pun intended) than the Sun Belt champs.
Oh well. It’s old Sun Belt vs.
New Sun Belt and a win over a CUSA team (along with some help from stAte, Stink, Troy and Louisiana winning their games) will help boost the profile of the conference which, after the last three years, is criminally marginalized compared to the other four G5 conferences.
Adding another trophy to the case and another notch over an OOC team is a good way to end the year.

I’d hate it if all our alumni bought tickets through ticketmaster and not the university and App was on the hook to buy thousands of tickets with the budget we have.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 3:34 pmAfter Ticketmaster Fees, I can get mine thru the Bowl for about $50 and be on the sideline about midway up. Always buy tickets through the university. Tickets bought through the university are tracked and used by bowls to gauge ticket sales for future bowls as well.

For our first Camillia Bowl, I got my tickets thru Yosef Club and the seats were absolute garbage.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 3:34 pmAfter Ticketmaster Fees, I can get mine thru the Bowl for about $50 and be on the sideline about midway up. The issue I have with this is that you wind up paying more for worse seats. That might not mean much in Montgomery or Mobile, but in the Superdome, it can mean the difference between cheaper seats on the 35 and expensive seats in the corner.Saint3333 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:26 pmI’d hate it if all our alumni bought tickets through ticketmaster and not the university and App was on the hook to buy thousands of tickets with the budget we have.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 3:34 pmAfter Ticketmaster Fees, I can get mine thru the Bowl for about $50 and be on the sideline about midway up. This MTSU team might be better than their record indicates. Three of their five losses were to SEC teams and their other two losses were by a combined total of five points (two of those five points were in the championship game loss to UAB). This will be a real test for our team and we'll see how we handle the CUSA runner-up. Their championship game was very close.

Yes, this I my biggest dilemma. I support the school beyond my tickets, but I also buy seats because I enjoy football and want value and to enjoy watching my team play. I am spending 100's to make the tripAppinATL wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:29 pmFor our first Camillia Bowl, I got my tickets thru Yosef Club and the seats were absolute garbage.appstatealum wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 3:34 pmAfter Ticketmaster Fees, I can get mine thru the Bowl for about $50 and be on the sideline about midway up. It is Middle Tennessee State University. Article from Ethan Joyce, Winston-Salem Journal - "Who will App State, the Sun Belt champion, be playing in the New Orleans Bowl?"

We have to get more pressure on the QB. Can’t give this guy time.

There will be plenty of open seats, this is simple do the right thing for the program and university.AppinVA wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 5:30 pmThe issue I have with this is that you wind up paying more for worse seats. Re: R&L Carriers Bowl...NEW ORLEANS opponent?
I believe that the tickets purchased through the Yosef Club are going to be allocated based on your Yosef point total ranking; from the bowl ticket page:
"tied to your Yosef Club donor account in order to purchase tickets and receive priority allocation based on the Yosef Club priority points system"
So, here's another reason to increase your Yosef giving and season ticket purchases to improve your priority for these events in the future. I think you have to purchase by the 6th to get in on the priority allocation thing for the best seats. I've got 4 ordered and hotel booked!!

Agreed. I think they’re better than their record reflects.AppinVA wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 3:56 pmIf we do what we can do, you will not have to eat crow. I wanted UAB, as well, but the MUTS will prove to be tough.
