Good points! Still wondering why all the injuries, are the stars out of line? Anyway, as was the case in 2014, we are burning a few redshirts. And, it APPears (once again) it is paying dividends. I have been convinced we are an above average G5 team, once again, good points. However, we are not a top 10 G5 team in my opinion.

Too the boo birds and naysayers about Lamb. Just threw a perfect pass that resulted in a TD.
TL to my knowledge has not been boo’ed and who the hell is a naysayer? Why can you not discuss strengths and weaknesses and not be considered a supporter? Get over yourself
I guess you don't read this board very often. There were posts on here today and almost every week criticising Taylor Lamb.

This is what I call criticism:

He's a senior qb who doesn't ever throw touchdowns. I mean ever

i'm not sure your sarcasm meter is working. If not, why would you put any credibility in such a stupid statement?

I agree we should be beating these guys by 3 TD's. On the other hand the adrenaline
level is way up, I've been engaged good and bad, and the Apps keep coming through.
Entertaining.

We refuse to lose. It's a programmatic attitude. I think I can speak for everyone and say our frustration ( or more aptly describe it as surprise ) is coming from a lack of a running game that for the last several years has been the envy of the league and all of G5. We didn't realize how good our graduating linemen were and thought we'd be fine with returners. Clearly not the case. We are beating those we are supposed to yet consistency from beginning to game end eludes this team. By now our expectations should be tempered by this reality and the impact of injuries. We will limp into a bowl this year with a 10-2, 9-3 record. Someone said we've been spoiled. True dat. One thing you can surely say is the games so far have been drama filled! See all a week from Thursday.

Some people on this board need to get a clue. App is a “terrible team”? They are 5-2; one win away from bowl eligibility. This would be their third bowl game in three years of bowl eligibility. That is almost unprecedented success.

Is our O-line weaker than last year? Yes. Is the ground game disappointing? Yes. Is App a terrible team? Scoreboard, y’all.

Go. Fight. Kick Ass.
Bowl eligible is over rated. Very average teams make the bowls.
Would you rather not be bowl eligible?
What I am saying is that bowl eligible is no bench mark. You have to suck pretty bad to not make a bowl. Last year there were what maybe 3 teams at 5-7 who made bowls.

If we had a full compliment of preseason starters, and no injuries, then I would 100% agree on margin of victory.

Rek - my guess is we will see some advancement in the run game (if we have anyone healthy to run the ball) - you must remember that our 2 best returning receivers never played - we have 3 freshmen at WR and early on I think teams just dared us to pass to beat them - well Lamb proved he could win having to pass the ball so I do think teams will play us a little different - No matter how good our OL were/are when they have more in the box on defense than we have blockers it is very difficult to run the ball effectively ---

How many teams would love to limp into a bowl game with a 10-2, 9-3 record?

We're back in the "Others receiving votes" in the Amway Coaches Poll, along with Troy, so yeah, we pretty much suck. This isn't the first time this season we've been listed either.

Others Receiving Votes
Memphis 119; Iowa State 32; Mississippi State 19; South Carolina 9; Georgia Tech 8; Arizona 6; Colorado State 4; Kentucky 4; Marshall 3; Boise State 3; Navy 3; Arizona State 2; Appalachian State 1; Florida 1; Syracuse 1; Troy 1.

I'd trade the vote for some more linemen!

I would too, but I love seeing App listed even if it is just one vote! I also love that Ark St is NOT listed.

This has not been the dominate App team that many were expecting but about 80% of the G5 teams in the country would gladly trade places with where we are today. It's hard to figure this team from quarter to quarter but they certainly know how to win tight games. I must admit it has been an exciting thrill ride of a season up to this point.

Just win Baby!

You guys just be thankful you also don't follow the other Mountaineers (WVU) closely - they are much more "jekyll/hyde" than APP - between the two of them this season I'm just about half-way to the nut-house :o

I think we can expect another nail-biter in Amherst, MA next Sat. afternoon. We aren't quite the dragon-slayers we were expected to be and some of the dogs we thought we'd be playing--suddenly have teeth. We'd better be prepared.

Here is a fun fact that should provide some perspective and some hope concerning our play. We played the second half of Saturday’s game with 7 Freshmen playing significant minutes on offense. That is a lot of youth and we are still winning. I don’t care who you are playing, that is impressive and encouraging.

We had a fumble recovery by a small, soph (?walk-on?) DL who didn't get any PT as a frosh.
