We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Being reported that fickel has the job. Still seems like there's a lot of smoke that satt was in the mix. Kind of heartbreaking if he's interviewing. Although we knew it was going to happen

Re: Satterfield to Cincinnati?
This one huge reason that I want App and UNCC to start playing each other on a regular basis. With App having such a large alumni base in Charlotte and with Boone being relatively close to the Charlotte area I think that App could pick up money from businesses in Charlotte. I realize that I don't fully understand everything it takes to pick up donors and their money but I think that Charlotte would be a relatively easy market for App to play into. Especially if we act before UNCC builds up their program to where they are competing for CUSA Championships and bowl games year in and year out. I don't know how feasible this would be or if it would even be possible. Thoughts?appgrad95&97 wrote:That is a very good reason to not be so dismissive of GA St. and UNCC.

I think App can compete for fans and sponsors anywhere west of Durham. But win, win, win.

So I'd assume this Cincinnati crap that Scott is interviewing for can not help recruiting? The local news sources are starting to print articles

Obviously won't help if he goes. If he stays, I doubt it has much effect.boonetown1 wrote:So I'd assume this Cincinnati crap that Scott is interviewing for can not help recruiting? The local news sources are starting to print articles

Re: Satterfield to Cincinnati?
I just don't see Cincy as that job that makes Satt want to jump as this point. I think the speculation and his name being included is likely from his agent using leverage for an extension/raise which needs to happen to not only Satt but his assistants more importantly.

Assistant pay was just published by USA Today.

That's a good deal healthier than just two years ago.
Here's App compared to the rest of the SBC.

Re: Satterfield to Cincinnati?
You don't always interview to get the job.
People need to put themselves in SS's shoes. If you are 42 and a recruiter called your office today and offered you 4-5 times your current all-in pay you'd listen and take a trip on a private jet to discuss the opportunity further.

Re: Satterfield to Cincinnati?
Satt has always said he would listen if someone wanted to talk, but that doesn't mean he will take the job. Can't blame him for talking with them, but I don't think Cincy is the right move for him. I do like how PJ Fleck said he views WMU as an equal to Cincy and wouldn't talk to any G5 about a job. I'd hope Satt would have similar feelings going forward, and he may now that he knows what an AAC would even bring to the table.
I still think he will hold out for a good P5 job that will pay even more than Cincy and keep him closer to home.

Re: Satterfield to Cincinnati?
I see Satt as someone that would build his resume a little more and shoot for a future P5 (ACC, SEC) type position, something he definitely has the ability to do. He APPears to be an individual that would not leave for another G5 position. The fact that he is an App graduate does come into play as well. In a nutshell, good things come to those who wait.
Re: Satterfield to Cincinnati?
I may be in the minority but I think Satterfield is seriously interested (not casually interested) in the Cincinnati job and other comparable opportunities. I also can't blame him. I don't think many of us would turn down the chance to make 3 times their current salary. With that said, I certainly hope he stays in Boone.
