I'm not ready to anoint Lamb a four-year starter just yet. He's going to have to get bigger and stronger if he's to avoid the kind of injuries that curtailed Edwards' career (lawnmower accidents notwithstanding). Caruso is noticeably more muscular than Lamb, even though they had similar builds last summer. When Satterfield challenged his team to get bigger and stronger in the off season, I'm pretty sure at least part of that challenge was directed toward Lamb.mtnjax wrote:Goodman is probably a fallback at this point if David doesn't sign (unlikely)crossza wrote:My question is how long will it take Daniel David to get the starting QB spot? and, like mentioned above, they'll wait. David will likely be redshirted next year, like JP was this year. after that, JP and David will fight it out for when Taylor graduates

Oh! I didn't see that. It's weird though because according to 247, yahoo, and espn he doesn't even have an offer from them.firemoose wrote:Goodman has committed to NCCU. But I guess that can be attributed to the fact that they are FCS and their recruiting isn't really as tracked.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
2 discussion questions to think about during this lull in recruiting we are currently in:
1) Who would y'all say is our best, most potential filled recruit thus far? Who is your favorite essentially?
I say Obe Fortune is going to do great things for this university.
2) Which one recruit (that is reasonable, obviously not a 5* guy with 70 P5 offers) do you most want?
I really want Adonus Lee but I would settle for Markyevious Adams

Re: Recruiting, 2015
I let both Rivals and 24/7 know when he committed. According to my notes he got the offer back a couple of months ago. Also had a reported one from South Carolina State. Guess they haven't updated their sites on him yet. It's why I spend so much time updating our pages from not only the recruiting sites but also looking back at players twitter accounts.crossza wrote:Oh! I didn't see that. Re: Recruiting, 2015
Completely agree that Lamb needs to bulk up some; however, QB is probably one position where you don't want guys being too muscular. Have read that adding too much bulk can mess with a QB's throwing motion.AppGrad78 wrote:I'm not ready to anoint Lamb a four-year starter just yet. I'm not too worried about Lamb, though. I'm sure Sig will have an appropriate training program for him and the other QBs.
Re: Recruiting, 2015
I'm predicting David ends up at WR or DB. Watched him play twice, and he barely, if ever, threw. Could be wrong, but unless he blossoms as a passer like Armanti did, doubt he beats anyone out at QB. Sure can run though.crossza wrote:My question is how long will it take Daniel David to get the starting QB spot? Re: Recruiting, 2015
I think he could be pretty good coming in and running a sort of wildcat option to mix it up for defenses.appgrad wrote:I'm predicting David ends up at WR or DB. Re: Recruiting, 2015
Nathan Gilliam commited to WFU but he could always decommit from the worst FBS football program in the State and arguably the worst p5 in the country.Appdoggy wrote:1) Tie between Rubino and Fortunecrossza wrote:2 discussion questions to think about during this lull in recruiting we are currently in:

I like Darnell Thomspon too and I think he is ours as long as NC State doesn't offer him. He visited them a few weeks ago. He is holding out for an offer from them I think since he is from Raleigh. Just checked his offer page and he has offers from us, Ohio, Southern Miss, and WKU. Throw UAB out, and throw Ohio out, and throw WKU out. I think it is between us and USM.

I believe you are correct that the coaches were looking at DE - Kingsley Ejike.
Their LT - Victor Salako has 23 starts under his belt and could be a good get.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
No dissrespect to the players currently on our roster, but I would go after their starting left tackle. It would be nice to be able to fill the void left by Lamm with a guy that has played the position. And he's a sophomore.

Re: Recruiting, 2015
According to Rivals and 24/7 Kingley Ejile was recruited by UAB, Ga. St, and Ga. Sou. Neither site showed an App offer or interest but that doesn't mean it wasn't there. Also, while both are from Covington, GA, Blackmon went to Eastside High School and Ejile went to Newton.mtnjax wrote:I think we recruited this kid. His name looks familiar. Re: Recruiting, 2015
Since, from the conversations in this thread the previous days, it appeared that people were having trouble locating the Recruiting Pages, I had a talk with Yosef and asked him to add the new Recruiting Tab that is now on the menu bar at the top of the page. This should make it easier to find all the recruiting Main Pages I keep referring to in the threads. We've also added new Football (2017), Basketball (2017), and Baseball (2016/2017) pages. It will take me some time to add the info and construct the pages but they are there now. Just wanted everyone to be aware and hope it makes it easier for everyone to find.

1) The GMC 3 definitely give a lot of hope and reason for optimism if even excitement. Scot Sloan has done an excellent job on the recruiting trail.crossza wrote:2 discussion questions to think about during this lull in recruiting we are currently in:

2) Devin Papenheim is golden. He's a guy I think Appalachian State has a great chance of getting if they focus on him. He has great length which he uses well, he has good disruptiveness, he hits hard for his size and most impressively he pursues the ball like a linebacker. Today 247 recruiting gave Charles Omenihu (Texas) a four star ranking but I still believe Papenheim is better because of his pursuit and his ability to set the edge or track down running backs and quarterbacks downfield when the play is to the opposite side.
