You are right but apparently consistently packing 30k plus into a 24k facility is the only way we can justify expansion.BTK2000 wrote:I just want to point out that I really don't think the stadium can handle more than 30k. The main concourse was a zoo, Concession lines were pointlessly long, bathrooms were impossible to get to. I want to have 40k and have people hanging off tree just to get a glimpse of the game but I don't think the stadium can currently handle what y'all are saying might happen during the Miami Game. We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Actually there's another way to justify expansion, fully fund scholarships via the Yosef Club and raise money via a capital contribution campaign. If that doesn't occur they'll need to increase ticket sales to pay for it.AtlAppMan wrote:You are right but apparently consistently packing 30k plus into a 24k facility is the only way we can justify expansion.BTK2000 wrote:I just want to point out that I really don't think the stadium can handle more than 30k. Do you think our administration doesn't want to have excited new athletic plans?

Re: Scary big attendance numbers for Miami
I think stating the capacity at 24K (which I know we do) is misleading. We sell tickets for lawn seating, and people buy them. Some people no doubt prefer that to the bleachers.AtlAppMan wrote:You are right but apparently consistently packing 30k plus into a 24k facility is the only way we can justify expansion.BTK2000 wrote:I just want to point out that I really don't think the stadium can handle more than 30k. Building an expansion to sell seats to people who are already buying GA tickets is cannibalizing existing business. Now, to BTK's point, could we use expanded restrooms, concessions, etc.? You bet.

I know I have asked but not sure if I got a definitive answer. How many can we seat with temp bleachers on the field house end? Seems like there is room for quite a few butts. Rest room and concessions will be a nightmare

I couldn't tell if you were being facetious or not, but yes, you can pay extra and get a huge cup along with a bottled drink./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:Do beverages now come with ice in a cup?

I love Woodlands BBQ. I just wish Pepsi would agree to allowing them to serve iced tea like they did several years.

Agree. No way we can handle 35k. In my opinion that would just be irresponsible. I want the place to be packed but no way should 11k be let in w/ no place to sit.Gonzo wrote:I've been in the stadium for every top 10 game attendance-wise and I can't imagine getting more than 1,000 or so more than we've had on our best days. It's come to a point in past where general admission ticket holders were leaving because they couldn't even stand somewhere and watch the game. The hill, the student section, and the walkways were just sardine canned.
I'm thinking 33k and change is all we can handle, even if we ban the fire marshal.

Actually if this happens and tailgating is allowed, I predict more than students out there. If they advertise it and set up some food trucks and AMB shows up this would be a fantastic option for those who could not get tickets.McLeansvilleAppFan wrote:If that were to happen they better give back some student athletic fees to those students that do not get into KBS.appvette wrote:My friend works for the fire department. They calculated the max at 38k but then realized that includes the field. Taking that area out brought it down to around 33k. They are expecting they'll have to turn students away so they're talking of putting a projector up on duck pond field and allowing tailgating to appease the students that are turned away.

Re: Scary big attendance numbers for Miami
I remember some years back West Virginia came to Marshall it was the first time in a while they had played at Marshall or maybe ever not sure . The stadium only held 37 and some change I believe ? I was watching that game and the announcers even commented that you could not get one more person in that stadium, I believe they squeezed almost 42000 that day. That being said it can and should be the most attended game at app ever by far!

I was being serious. Only way to get ice is to spend more money for a larger cup?NewApp wrote:I couldn't tell if you were being facetious or not, but yes, you can pay extra and get a huge cup along with a bottled drink./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:Do beverages now come with ice in a cup?
