We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: It's Rivalry Week!!!!!
I think 32K is definitely in reach... the students are no doubt going to represent like crazy! If you can't get up for this game then you just don't love college football! I might not get anything done at work this entire week...
Re: It's Rivalry Week!!!!!
We open in Vegas as 6 point favorites. You normally get 3 points for being the home team.
I think this could really be a thriller. The only shared opponent we've had is ULM and in my opinion we both played them about the same. It's not that one of us beat them down better than the other.
Also remember ULL and A State play Tuesday which are the best 2 Sun Belt teams that aren't recent FCS teams. I'm going to call Tuesday's game the Bronze Metal Game for the Sun Belt Championship.
These next 4 weekdays will be the best Sun Belt play football fans will see all year. There is a good chance (although I don't know how ULL's sanctions will work I'm sure someone here will educate me) that the 4 teams playing this week will be the 4 teams going to bowl games at the end of the season.

Re: It's Rivalry Week!!!!!
The ticket sales today, tomorrow and Wednesday will determine crowd being full or not. Weather forecast is great so folks don't need to be walk-ups Thursday. I am hoping sales are booming as soon as ticket office opens this morning.
Re: It's Rivalry Week!!!!!
With tickets sells being what they are at the moment, I hope that the students show up in force.

The students were great at Homecoming in horrendous weather... I would think we get close or maybe surpass the biggest student crowd ever.

Re: It's Rivalry Week!!!!!
I had a little free time this morning, and frankly was/am curious to follow how sales are going for this one, so I jotted down the #'s. As of 5:00am we had a little over 3,000 reserved seats showing up in the system. As of 11:15 we have moved 47 this morning, to drop just below the 3K reserved seats available threshold.

Well, that's just about as disappointing news as we could have from the support standpoint. This team deserves better. Can't they just give them to students?HkyMtneer wrote:I had a little free time this morning, and frankly was/am curious to follow how sales are going for this one, so I jotted down the #'s. This isn't about students. The students show an ID and get in, and they will there Thursday night. This is about selling tickets to everyone else.

OK. I read elsewhere that 11,000 were allotted to students and the rest were to be sold. What you're describing is the way it used to be way back in the day. Thought it might have changed.

Maybe that refers to seats? I think we might see students filling some of the unsold reserved seats for this one.ashugh wrote:OK. Re: It's Rivalry Week!!!!!
It looks like we just had a bunch of seats released, even a decent number in the prime and previously "sold out" sections. As a result, and although we have sold some tickets today, it appears we now have a couple hundred more tickets left than we did at 5:00am this morning...guessing somewhere in the 3,300/3,400 range. Hopefully this release of of additional tickets was the last of it and everything from here on is pure additional gate.

Re: It's Rivalry Week!!!!!
No...not to Stink fans, though I guess they are equally as welcome to buy them as anyone else. If we've given the enemy more tickets I imagine they would be in those immediate areas surrounding 108, 109, etc.The tickets released a bit ago were in areas like Section 110 and 204, generally areas where few tickets are available "by the game", as these are the areas with the densest season ticket base. Both of these sections were "sold out" as of this morning but are now returning as tickets available, unless that is a glitch of some sort. The same is to be said of the sections to each side of the 50's, on both the APP and STATE side of KBS, with more tixs now available than were showing this morning. I'm hoping we're working the phones on some group sales because I'm thinking we might need to sale a few blocks at this point to get to where we'd all like to be on Thursday evening.Gonzo wrote:Released to whom? Re: It's Rivalry Week!!!!!
There are 150,000 people in Watauga, Wilkes and Ashe Counties. With all the people coming from Charlotte, Triad and the Triangle, how in the heII can't we get 30,000 people to show up for a game like this? Really disappointing.
I hope the athletic department has people on the radio pumping this game every hour to get people out. They need to get their marketing on in a big way.

Re: It's Rivalry Week!!!!!
Someone mentioned the Watauga schools are closed on Friday which to me means we need to hit the locals up hard to fill the remaining seats. We need better support/involvement from the locals in general so this could be an opportunity to help build that relationship. Set aside one of the larger sections of unsold seats and have a local discount of some sort until it is full. I hate to do too many discounts, but at some point some $$$ and butts in the seats is better than empty seats. We just need to make sure people don't come to expect it to be a regular thing going forward in the future.
