We are in need of someone to take over the maintenance of the MMB. Yosef has done it for a long time, and we are grateful for all he has done, but life happens and he no longer has the time to devote to its upkeep. If anyone here is interested in helping to keep the board running, please let me know via DM.

Re: Next up - UL Lafayette
Play like last week, eliminate most penalties, and VASTLY improve ST and we could do this. IF we do the rugby thing again I will be watching the last game from home. I do not want to be seen in public going right out of my mind. We have a VERY good punter and they are making him look terrible.

I was encouraged by watching Cox's effectiveness on the short passing routes (a little past the line of scrimmage) in which he made most of his gains in yards after the catch. If their defense usually catches RBs in the backfield for a loss, maybe Cox can capitalize on the short dump pass and have a better chance to be productive.WataugaMan wrote:Or, we may need to pass to set up the run.AppSt94 wrote:In order for us to win this game we have to run to set up the pass. The first five games of the year would go quite differently if we were to play them now.
But, I also think that ULL might not be as good as their record. They won't play GaSo and got the rest of the top half of the league at home.
If we play as well as we did last week, with fewer mistakes, we will win.

Hello ASU fans. Friendly Cajun Troll here.clayton wrote:AppSt94 wrote: In order for us to win this game we have to run to set up the pass. We need to avoid third and long. I really don't think the order is as tall as many seem to believe.
A lot of people are pointing to their run defense because they're ranked first in the league in that category.
BUT... they haven't played us yet and won't play Georgia Southern. GaSo is first in the league in rushing with 384 yards a game. We're second with 246 (more than 200 fewer yards a game). They are third.
Maybe they seem so strong against the run because they haven't played the league's top three rushing attacks?
Re: run D It may be that we have held all those other teams to low rushing yardage that allows you and GASO to have higher numbers. If we had played, your rushing numbers may not be so high. We held ULM to -39 yards. Minus 39. Even without adding sacks they were still below zero in rushing yards.
Passing D has been porous but we get lots of pressure on the QB.
I dont think your front 7 will be able to hold up against our Oline and the RBs and running QB that we have. We can pass just enough to keep you honest and hit the big play from time to time. But our run game is our life.
Any and all are welcome to join our tailgating. Please wear your ASU gear and you will be invited to many tailgates. The weather does not look good for Saturday unfortunately, and may put a slight damper on things. We are planning Military Appreciation activities and fireworks as well, to thank veterans and active duty for their sacrifice. If you are making the trip down to Lafayette, be safe and enjoy yourself! Bon chance!
