Re: Stadium enhancements
At a total of 90 feet wide (30 yards), this thing will be dominating in the stadium. At 30 yards wide, that only leaves a bit over 10 yards on each side to be the width of the field. A football field is 53 1/3 yards wide.

My hope is that the new board has NO speakers because I have no faith in them eliminating that canned crap.

Re: Stadium enhancements
DJ'd music is fine if it's coordinated properly. Need a clear if/then plan in place. If there's a stoppage in play, ie moving the sticks, TV time out then pump in a song. If not let the band play. It's all about having a balance and a plan.

Re: Stadium enhancements
Well we worry about having a track because it makes us look high school but are ok with this middle school crap they blast. Sorry I am just fed up with it. I don't go to concerts to see football.
Re: Stadium enhancements
We can find all kinds of thing to gripe about at the end of the day. THE ONLY part of our current stadium sold out with a waiting list is club seating.
There are lots of moving pieces with all of this....more of that in a minute.
I am so grateful to be where we are and never thought I'd live to see our current status or stadium.
I am with 66 and H3 Young guys breathe. Not because I am anybody but I was in a pretty small group meeting with Doug a few weeks ago. I would not be surprised at almost any off campus eventuality. There is a chance we will end up at the old high school facility with a multipurpose facility for track, soccer, FH.......and softball has to have a bigger stadium to host playoff softball games.
In the current situation there is only a 4 hour window for football to practice daily. And it is a static window.
The north end facility will result in moving football staff, locker, weight training, athletic training, and ancillary staff to the old Owens site when complete.
The rest of the athletics would then occupy the current football offices etc.
Obviously renovating some interior space at current facility would be required.
I think when all this starts to happen it will be quick. In terms of the bigger plan. Honestly the timing of when things come open will make other things happen.....so don't get your panties in a wad. Nobody posting here is going to control any of this unless someone can write a very large check.

I guess every school in the country is middle school then. Literally every school plays music, and rap music at that, over the speakers. I don't know why you guys get your panties in such a wad over music. The timing could and needs to be better and thankfully the quality will be much better but there's nothing wrong with music in general over the loud speakers and if you think there is then I'm sorry but you'll be disappointed in every stadium throughout these here United States.

And every pause in action doesn't need music. See if we can figure a way to get the crowd involved with some noise!!! If you have ever watched an English soccer match you'd know what I'm talking about. Our mantra should be EVERY VOICE COUNTS!!!!!!!

Re: Stadium enhancements
While I don't enjoy the canned music, I don't have quite the same visceral hatred of it as some. But what I absolutely loathe is when they cram in a 5 second snippet of a song between plays. Who enjoys that? Who's sitting there during a game thinking, "You know what would really make this experience better? Hearing four words of 'All I Do Is Win.'"Rekdiver wrote:And every pause in action doesn't need music. See if we can figure a way to get the crowd involved with some noise!!! Re: Stadium enhancements
I would prefer, at least, that they stop playing it as the band enters the sfadium. I can live with the music if there is a plan as opposed to the randomness that seems to prevail.
Re: Stadium enhancements
If the canned music helps pump up the players before and during the game, then it doesn't matter what any of us think.

They do now at LSU, however they know the right times and understand the importance of the band.Rekdiver wrote:Better sound quality means nothing if we have to listen to all that ill-timed DJ crap...........Dont remember hearing any of that in AnnArbor or Baton Rouge..........

Re: Stadium enhancements
If that were true then Appalachian wouldn't be doing a survey right now to get feedback from us on virtually every aspect of our experience in Kidd Brewer. It always matters what the paying customer thinks.AppAttack wrote:If the canned music helps pump up the players before and during the game, then it doesn't matter what any of us think.

Re: Stadium enhancements
I think most of us will concede coordinating the music, band, cheerleaders with the the fan base cheering and at the appropriate times in the game has to be extremely difficult. The only complaint I have with last season was when the band or DJ would come in over top of a fan chant. I liked the video of Law & Cox initiating the App...State cheer, but the timing was a little off with the video.
For me, the game with the best fan engagement over the last 5 years was the Montana game. My memory is fading but it seemed like we were screaming APP....STATE the entire game, to the point people in Wilkesboro had to have heard us.

Re: Stadium enhancements
I remember the 2007 NC game against Delaware...I think it was while a play was under review we all got the App...State...chant going and it was LOUD. I watched the game again on Dvr a few days later and it was very much audible and you could even tell through the broadcast it was loud.Boone Goon wrote:I think most of us will concede coordinating the music, band, cheerleaders with the the fan base cheering and at the appropriate times in the game has to be extremely difficult. I'm sorry I didn't know that. See I have not been to every single stadium in the country like you have. I just keep forgetting to check with you to see what my opinion on everything should be. Be that as it may the music sucks. OOOps there I go again.Yosef10 wrote:bcoach wrote:Well we worry about having a track because it makes us look high school but are ok with this middle school crap they blast.
