It's a petty thought, but I wish the game were sooner. 2021 seems to be the year when the OOC really lights up; home games against Marshall and Charlotte, game at the Bank, and in Miami. Three out of conference games people can actually attend with one a lot of people would thoroughly enjoy attending, unlike a game in Akron, OH and Knoxville, TN.

Craig Bohl will be gone to bigger and better things by the time even the 2020 game would happen, likely leaving Wyoming in the pit that PJ Fleck just threw Western Michigan into.

Craig Bohl will be gone to bigger and better things by the time even the 2020 game would happen, likely leaving Wyoming in the pit that PJ Fleck just threw Western Michigan into.
Maybe. Bohl will be 59 before next season starts. He's fast approaching the age (if he's not already there) where most P5s don't want to hire a first-time P5 HC. Of course I suppose an AAC job could also qualify as "bigger and better" than Wyoming.

Success follows Bohl wherever he goes. I'm sure a P5 wouldn't resort to age discrimination to avoid hiring what would likely be a very successful coach.

Been to Laramie (SE WYO) and been to the western half of Wyoming. You're not missing much in Laramie, but the other half of the state is great.

Good to know. Looks like a week off work will be needed.

If they believe in him as strongly as you do, I'm sure they wouldn't. Yet the reality is you don't see many 60+ first-time P5 coaches.

Age discrimination is a poor hiring policy in any industry. While you may take investment in an employee versus potential longevity within said company, in college football, coaches are relatively short lived unless they are at a destination they prefer, or are at a large P5 with a nearly unlimited budget.

I wish this series had started the past couple of seasons. Our challenge is to remain at a high level to be able to win our share of these opportunities. At that point we'll have something special.
One of the keys to that condition is to be able to hold on to Scott Satterfield and the key members of his staff.
