Re: Marcus Cox?
I disagree - if he can play, he starts - if not, hold him out ---ukappfan wrote:So dress him and only play him if needed. Moore has done a great job. We don't need Marcus to get come back early and get hurt worse.

Re: Marcus Cox?
I'd say dress him up but make him secondary. If the Cajuns make it difficult for Moore, bring him in. Otherwise let him rest this week and next and save him for GASO.

Re: Marcus Cox?
Unless he's 100% don't dress him. Dressing him could impact Moore and others. If it's isn't 100% hand Moore the ball and tell the offensive line this is the horse we're riding today and it's up to you to win this game.

Re: Marcus Cox?
As often as you see the "dress him out but only play him if you have to" suggestion on message boards, I don't think coaches actually take that approach very often. I think he'll give it a go in warmups and if he can go, he will.

Re: Marcus Cox?
I'm have a class on Tuesday mornings with Marcus Cox and a few other of the football players and Marcus Cox was there and the team has already left. So Marcus cox is OUT against ULL. Smart move in my opinion. Why risk it with Moore playing so well?

Re: Marcus Cox?
You are correct. The only way a Sr leader and captain does not travel with the team is if one has an injury that could be made worse or is too bad to allow the travel. Given he was running on Sunday in shorts and a green jersey, not practicing but running drills with Jaylan Barbour on the sidelines, and that in post practice interviews that staff said he was nearly 100% and would get reps on Wednesday, it appears he will make the trip.TheMoody1 wrote:Whether Marcus plays or not I don't know, but I am sure he will travel with the team to the game.
We had the report last week that Moore was out and hadn't practiced all week. I went to people who had been at practice, asked them, and posted back. And as I said then, unless something happened in the past 36 hours, sounds like Cox (this time) will travel and could be ready to see some time, based on staff interviews. Whether he will or not will be seen tomorrow night. Strange things do happen. We've lost our two best passers on the Volleyball team for extended times when they ran into each other on the court. And lost another one of our very good players when she slipped and re-injured a repaired meniscus tear while walking on a rainy campus. But as of Sunday Cox was working and I haven't heard anything from anyone that said he wasn't traveling with the team. Just was posting that the team had not left yet, as of lunch, for a clarification.

Hmm, well 4 of the other players who are also in the class were not there. I figured they left.
