Re: Herbies
If the slight chance of beating Tennessee occurs it would maybe get us to #25 at best, probably not at all. Miami will likely be ranked in the high 20s coming into the game.
Week 3
Alabama vs Ole Miss
Michigan State vs Notre Dame
Ohio State vs Oklahoma
USC vs Stanford
Gameday likely isn't coming to Boone

Re: Herbies
Agree it is slight but I guarantee you there is a chance. When Temple, James Madison and North Dakota State hosted games there were much bigger games those weekends and Gameday came to those schools. I'm telling you, the second year in FBS and as well as we are played last year-there is a chance but we have to win our first two games.

Re: Herbies
The talk of Game Day coming to Boone would be really cool but isn't the game time an issue? I completely understand that isn't THE issue but doesn't that exist? I often catch parts of Game Day and aren't they usually on the campus of a team playing later than noon? I guess just for the sake of argument would we bump back the game time if we knew that the crew was coming? We would most certainly have to beat ODU as well.
Funny how another thread took a turn. Big LOL on a Friday morning.

Yes, game time is another reason it won't happen.bigdaddyg wrote:The talk of Game Day coming to Boone would be really cool but isn't the game time an issue? Re: Herbies
You telling me Miami and App both wouldn't agree to change the game time if ESPN said they'd do Gameday here? Gameday isn't coming, but game time isn't an issue.

Re: Herbies
I'm sure the game time would be bumped back. Just for the sake of argument this game would probably have to be more like our 7th or so on the schedule. Both teams would probably have to be unbeaten, we would have knocked off UT and subsequently having moved up to like 15th in the polls, etc. Didnt JMU gain some type of appeal last year? Even with a 2-0 start we wouldn't jump over the big boys as far as appeal. They would probably just do a little segment. It would certainly be cool.

No, I'm telling you ESPN putting the game at noon is an indication, for anyone who needs one, that they have no intent of bringing Gameday here.Yosef wrote:You telling me Miami and App both wouldn't agree to change the game time if ESPN said they'd do Gameday here? Gameday is out. We need to drop it..however... ESPN does that show before it. The name escapes me right now. I'd love to see Marty Smith recreate the Miracle on the Mountain.

GameDay will be in Bristol the week before, so not a big deal to move the production to Boone.B30020 wrote:Let me give you something to think about – if we beat Tennessee and ODU, can ESPNs college game day come up to Boone for the Miami game? I think so!!!!!!!!
