Doug has already said that they will allow every student a chance to get in . Fire Marshall will have some upset students .

Doug wants the house packed but he doesn't want people especially newcomers to have a negative experience, waiting forever in line for food and restrooms or being crowded. Which I know will happen regardless, but doesn't need to happen more than necessary. I'm going to go with the elevation with a zero on the end

They can definitely have temporary, larger end zone seating brought in, set up temporary additional gates to get people in and out, bring in temporary concessions and temporary restrooms (think US Open). They can get all students in and take it to 38,000 with vision and planning. Parking can be planned for as well. This happens on a weekly basis on the PGA Tour.

I predicted 34,500+ in another thread a week or ten days ago. I'm sticking with it. If we get a sunny, 80-degree day, look out!

All I ask is those of you that don't have reserved seating, please don't try to squeeze into a row or try to squeeze some friends in. Any other game, go for it. I usually don't care, but this game is going to be out of control. I understand...I have friends going to this game too and I would love to squeeze them in on my row where my season tix are, but out of respect of my fellow row mates, they are going to park their butts where their seats are and I'll hang with them at halftime.

Do we have satellite parking with buses that bring people to the stadium? Extension of this would be tailgating at State Farm field with the bus transport

If that were to happen they better give back some student athletic fees to those students that do not get into KBS.appvette wrote:My friend works for the fire department. They calculated the max at 38k but then realized that includes the field. Taking that area out brought it down to around 33k. They are expecting they'll have to turn students away so they're talking of putting a projector up on duck pond field and allowing tailgating to appease the students that are turned away.

Weather will not be an issue. We could have a foot of snow on the ground (it will be the third week of September) and we will still have a record crowd. We could draw 40,000 people for this game if the stadium held such a capacity.

How can you create a temporary gate?ashugh wrote:They can definitely have temporary, larger end zone seating brought in, set up temporary additional gates to get people in and out, bring in temporary concessions and temporary restrooms (think US Open). Re: Scary big attendance numbers for Miami
Pretty sure the record set against Elon was before we ever added the end zone seats. Thats an additional 2,000 seats so 33-34k would be reasonable. Maybe more if the increased the end zone seating.Gonzo wrote:It's my understanding that the 24.5k seat number doesn't include the hill. It also quantifies fewer people in the student section bench seating than what we actually have there. Students stand on their seats, giving us an extra uncounted row through that entire front section, and they squeeze in there like sardines. That's how we see 30k. I think the records crowd reports are accurate.bigdaddyg wrote:Not to beat it to death but those games with announces over 30k just didn't seem possible. Our seating is what, about 23k? How can 8k added buts get in there? Sounds awesome but unlikelybcoach wrote:I agree. If in fact the figures are actually accurate for those past games we will not see 35,000. There psychically just will not be room. Again if the record was an accurate number.Gonzo wrote:I've been in the stadium for every top 10 game attendance-wise and I can't imagine getting more than 1,000 or so more than we've had on our best days. It's come to a point in past where general admission ticket holders were leaving because they couldn't even stand somewhere and watch the game. The hill, the student section, and the walkways were just sardine canned.
I'm thinking 33k and change is all we can handle, even if we ban the fire marshal.
I just remember seeing the record crowds and I don't think we can fit many more than that. It was like Disney on a March Saturday. The entire causway was full of people standing, not just relocating, but watching the game from where they stood. Maybe we can have some chicken fights on the hill.

There is a gate next to the Block A on the hill that is never utilized, but could be.NewApp wrote:How can you create a temporary gate?ashugh wrote:They can definitely have temporary, larger end zone seating brought in, set up temporary additional gates to get people in and out, bring in temporary concessions and temporary restrooms (think US Open). Re: Scary big attendance numbers for Miami
That block A gate should be designated general admission tickets only...that would help remove some of the clog area at east gate entrance. And stream g.a. Tix straight to the hillside area. Also the area around the A is probably a no go...it's very steep and has a lot of erosion seams running down the hill and could cause a fall. I call it goat hill...it's tough working up there when painting the A...that is until the womens traxk team warms up....hey now!

Re: Scary big attendance numbers for Miami
It seems like I remember that, years ago, we added bleacher seating at the top of the hill (south end). This was before expanding the East stands, but it would seem that it effectively extends the hill upward. I guess the aesthetics are pretty bad, but is something like that an option in order to provide more "sit down" opportunities?

Re: Scary big attendance numbers for Miami
I just want to point out that I really don't think the stadium can handle more than 30k. I know its been done several time and I was there for homecoming in 2010 but just this past season during the Ga southern game the stadium was kinda maxed out. The main concourse was a zoo, Concession lines were pointlessly long, bathrooms were impossible to get to. I want to have 40k and have people hanging off tree just to get a glimpse of the game but I don't think the stadium can currently handle what y'all are saying might happen during the Miami Game. I love a good game and love games at the rock but packing people in like sardines and not having the ability to serve all those people is no way to experience a game

Don't forget to hook up your catheter. Those bathroom lines will be ridiculous. Hopefully, they'll put the temporary vendors out in the GA section along with some additional portajohns.

Liquor doesn't make you pee as much as beer. Just a side note for everyone to consider. haha

I was thinking about saving most of my drinking for the after game celebration which will include turning over all the campus police vehicles and setting fire to the duck pond./\PP ST/\TE GRAD 09 wrote:Liquor doesn't make you pee as much as beer. Just a side note for everyone to consider. haha
