Cited the sound system as well in mine. Also placed a special request to discontinue the "we get lots of trash" song. Worst I've ever heard.

Re: Game Day Survey
I mentioned many of the same things already posted: more concession selection, volume on sound system especially as it pertains to advertisements, more graphics (ie. Stats, words to alma mater, a decibel meter and replays), more apparel selection, dj music and band be better coordinated, do gas/grocery card/pizza promotion for the loudest fans and I suggested that the Student Yosef club, band and cheer team up together to increase cheers and fan participation.

If I'm not mistaken that's Marcus Cox's "We get lots of cash" song that coincides with their "for the cash" fist pump.ASU-FTW wrote:Cited the sound system as well in mine. Also placed a special request to discontinue the "we get lots of trash" song. Worst I've ever heard.

Re: RE: Re: Game Day Survey
The "For the cash" celebration is over done by our players. IMO. I recall players doing it against Clemson even once we were down big. That and the "Ran off da plug twice" done by almost every college kid after a touchdown. These are mild though and don't draw a penalty. It just gets old seeing it after almost every tackle.APPdiesel wrote:If I'm not mistaken that's Marcus Cox's "We get lots of cash" song that coincides with their "for the cash" fist pump.ASU-FTW wrote:Cited the sound system as well in mine. Law and another players song not Marcus's I believe...The entire team "came togther around" that song....It is not my cup of tea but I don't need to blast it when I see 85 students on the field enjoying it. Some on here just seem like they want the University to run the aux cord to there seat and that is the only way they will be happy. I personally don't "love" listening to the band during the game, doesn't do anything for me but I see other people enjoy it.APPdiesel wrote:If I'm not mistaken that's Marcus Cox's "We get lots of cash" song that coincides with their "for the cash" fist pump.ASU-FTW wrote:Cited the sound system as well in mine. Re: Game Day Survey
Well if nothing else that survey has allowed the grumpy MMB people an avenue for their grumpiness.
I will admit that the DJ is garbage. I don't hate rap music or hip hop, but the timing and song selection have been quite poor, often interupting the band or an important App State chant.
I gave high marks on my survey contribution with the exception of the above. I made sure to say that I'd like the athletic department to remove the track before they spend a dime on anything else. That is the single greatest flaw of the Appalachian Gameday experience. Bar none.

Yep, and that song is not for us...it's for the players and the students. So we have ZERO place to bitch and moan about it....though that won't stop many people here.3rd wrote:Law and another players song not Marcus's I believe...The entire team "came togther around" that song....It is not my cup of tea but I don't need to blast it when I see 85 students on the field enjoying it. Just remember, the piped in music isn't for the "season ticket holders I've been coming here since Carter was in office" people in the upper deck, it's for the students who do this:

Re: Game Day Survey
I'm pretty sure John Law started the FTC (for the cash) movement and authored the song "We Get Lots of Cash". While I'm no fan of rap music, I do appreciate the guys getting together and creating something that is their own like that. Rallying points like that don't require any particular weather or fan turnout. It's all part of a strong team outlook.

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: Game Day Survey
I wouldn't call it bitching as much as I would, people who spend probably the cost of room & board (Some the cost of tuition) to also watch App State play each season, not being fans of the music. What better place to express your opinion than an open forum message board. I have no issues with the genre...My beef is with the timing.APPdiesel wrote:Yep, and that song is not for us...it's for the players and the students. Re: Game Day Survey
I rated some things more important that others, but had few things I felt compelled to complain about. I did say it would be great to have a bigger, better video board and better sound quality on the audio as I think bad sound quality exacerbates any music one may not like. Wasn't sold on Doug Rice personally, but didn't make that an issue.

Re: Game Day Survey
We're fortunate to have a well-known, highly capable alumnus like Rice handling the PA. He had a fobble or two early on, but settled in nicely toward the middle of the season.

Doug is an App Alumn and frequents the MMB and posts occasionally. He is one of the most distinct voices on the NASCAR circut calling play-by-play for PRN (Performance Racing Network).wncapp78 wrote:Who is Doug Rice?
Ealier this year when we were in need of a PA announcer for football games the university reached out to Doug and he ovliged. I think it was a great move by thhe school and hope Doug sticks around with the program for a while.

Re: Game Day Survey
I gave feedback about the sound system, video screen and bathrooms.
Told them that that High Point University's baseball sound system is 1000 better than what we got. I think it's good to let them know how we feel. I'm sure most fans feel the same. I know people all around me think the sound system stinks. They will fix these things, it just takes time and $$$.
When I hit the lottery Wednesday night, everyone will see a bigger and better video and sound system against ODU.

Yeah, that $1 billion+, even after taxes, will buy a lot of decibels and clarity!AppState89 wrote:I gave feedback about the sound system, video screen and bathrooms.

Re: Game Day Survey
Finally, in its annual College Football Stadium Experience rankings, stadiumjourney.com ranked Appalachian State’s Kidd Brewer Stadium as the nation’s 20th-best FBS stadium and No. 2 among “Group of 5” conference venues (behind only Navy’s Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (No. 6). The stadiumjourney.com rankings are based upon the stadium’s overall atmosphere, neighborhood where the stadium resides, fans, access to and inside the stadium, food and beverage options inside the stadium, overall return on investment and an “extras” category for any unique features not covered adequately in the other categories.Gonzo wrote:Well if nothing else that survey has allowed the grumpy MMB people an avenue for their grumpiness.

Somebody didn't tell them about the track Then again maybe the track was the unique feature

Thanks, Mike. That link was dead, but I sent a TM to Kindsay Reeder. She sent me a "fresh" link and I've completed the survey.TheMoody1 wrote:asu66 wrote:What I got was this message... Have been unable to find that message in my inbox. Not exactly certain what to be looking for. Super interested. Help me with my search. What date was it sent? What was in the "Subject line?" Who or what was in the "From" line? Was there an attachment?
Would you be able/willing to forward a copy to me?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
The message was from Appalachian state Athletics recieved on January 8th. The subject was Mountaineer Game Day Survey. This is the link to the survey

Like I said, I was very positive in my review. I assume our lavish athletics center and electric atmosphere were the source of that high rating.bcoach wrote:Finally, in its annual College Football Stadium Experience rankings, stadiumjourney.com ranked Appalachian State’s Kidd Brewer Stadium as the nation’s 20th-best FBS stadium and No. 2 among “Group of 5” conference venues (behind only Navy’s Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium (No. 6). Re: Game Day Survey
Just yanking your chain on a slow day. In all honesty though it is at the bottom of my list. Someday if someone gave us about $50 Million, after some other projects, I could see it gone, field moved over, and other side rebuilt. I just have so many other things that would come first.Gonzo wrote:Like I said, I was very positive in my review.
